yeah spending $60 on a game you'll probably play for 10 hours or less. I wouldn't spend $60 on any of the above, but if you were to buy something I'd say Bad Company because I enjoyed the demo very much. I've been playing Battlefield series since 1942's first demo. I still have to say 1942 is the best battlefield, vietnam was meh, 2 is fairly good and 2142 has something weird about it that makes it not feel as fun to play. Crysis - well you can have good graphics, but it's a generic shooter in my opinion.simardbrad
So i should by Bad company then have 10 left over for Mcdonalds?
Let's see... PC games forum.
Three games.
PC game, console game, console game.
Ahh...

Maybe he wants the response from a forum that doesn't sound like...
"mgs4 sucks i played it at a friends house buy halo 3 instead"
"bad company is the best battlefield game ever since modern combat"
"crysis? enjoy spending $3,000 on a comp that can run it LOL"
I don't blame the guy coming to the PC forums. I wish I could have SOMEWHAT thoughtful conversations regarding 360 games and such - but that won't happen on Gamespot.

I am so sick of people saying this. Do you know what generic means?
Crysis is a game where, when encountering an enemy camp, you can:
Charge in all Rambo like and gun everyone down in a frontal firefight,
Stealth in with cloak and silently execute the guards, or tranq them and move on with zero kills,
Skip past the camp entirely using stealth and speed not even fighting them,
Use stealth, tranqs and your scope to snipe from range, using lethal or non-lethal takedowns,
Lure the enemy soldiers into explosive traps by taking advantage of its field of vision, its awareness of sound and its (for the first time in FPS AI?) memory and prioritising ability,
And many combinations of the above, possibly using vehicles if you so choose.
Exactly how is that generic? If that's generic, we must see in it the majority of FPS games. Not just some, but most. And the reality is that we don't see it in most. We don't even see it in some. Some would be an exaggeration.
In a generic FPS, when you encounter an enemy camp, you gun them down. No ifs, no buts, no choices. You kill them, and you kill them in a fairly limited way. The word generic simply cannot be applied to Crysis.
Clearly you don't have the imagination to understand or play Crysis the way it was intended, but that's not the game's problem. That's yours.
The only thing generic about Crysis is its story.

QFT. I've only played the demo but I approached the different encounter in many ways. In fact the first time I played the level I swimmed northed completelty ignoring the eastern half of that level since my objective wasn't located there.
Out of those: Crysis.
If you want a Battlefield game then why not just get it for PC? Probably cheaper too!!
MGS4>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Crysis>>Bad Company
BTW, never put console game in a poll in a PC forum 'cos people are always gonna choose the PC one, usually 'cos they haven't played the console game or hate console games

aka, the evolution of far cry, u actualy HAVE to think in those games, if there is a guy on a turret in a base , do u go in running and try to gun him? no, u find a way to sneak around and silently kill him from behind

By the way, MGS4 is the game I'm playing now. It's alright, I find elements of the gameplay quite fun, although nothing I'd consider amazing. On the other hand, it really does have a great presentation overall and interesting little touches, however, you had better like movies -- alot :P Long-winded cut-scenes are not something I personally consider a strong point in a game, but I can at least acknowledge the presentation and effort that has been put into them.

Does anything in this post counter or negate the relevance of my own post? Crysis is an evolution of Far Cry (and a much better game than Far Cry), but that hardly makes it generic. It makes it similar to its progenitor - but generic? Not by a mile.
I say crysis or battlefield 2 never buy a concole rent it first to see if you like it. god knows how meny junk games on concole! better yet look for demo of crysis and test them out to see what you like the best. I am not sure if there is a demo for battlefeild 2 but you can get real it cheap these days for $10 or 20 dallars.

That's true, yet, the OP did specifically ask for no other game suggestions except for the ones he mentioned.
It also depends on where he lives, but he could get BF2 for $10 and Crysis for $39, and come in under the $60 for MGS4 alone. In addition, there are demos for the Crysis and BF2 to help make any decision.
But hey dream, it'd be much safer to stay with the PC, those consolers are barbaric :P :P :P I'm only teasing you, I thought it was extremely funny. Actually, at the time of a new console release, maybe it's not too far from the truth  have you seen this?

I would have to agree for sure. mgs 4 might only last you a day or 2 on top of that. I hear their mso sucks too as well.I would say crysis. BF :BC is also pretty good, with the destructible envoirment and all, so you should definitely choose whether you want a really great sp + tons of user made map i.e crysis or a fun mp game BF : BC.
I hvan't played MGS 4 but if it is like the first two versions I would presonally avoid it, i never liked its over the top, lame story line and extremely long cutscenes
There's a multiplayer version of the Battlefield 2 demo. Also, I personally would go for Crysis (I have a XBOX 360 myself), and I'm going to buy Crysis sometime soon hopefully. I have gone over and beaten the level in the demo at least 5 times. The first time was going stealthy using the silencer. Second time went with all guns blazing. Third time I used the cloak to suddenly surprise my enemies then kill them. Fourth time I would hide near a tree, and wait for them to get close and I would use cloak to get behind one of them, grab one and shoot at the other guy using the other guy I grabbed as a shield. So many ways to beat a level in Crysis.
Bad Company is a pretty good shooter. Personally, I don't think it's up there with Crysis, but it is a good game. If you like multiplayer better than single player, then I guess go for Bad Company.
Metal Gear Solid 4 is a good game, but one thing I hate is that the cutscenes can be so long. They can be more than 30 minutes long at one time. It feels more like a movie than a game (not necessarily a good thing).
MGS 4, you wont get the most out of the graphics with that card not even the newest cards play it like its supposed to. And mgs 4 is a must hope they bring it to the pc.Precyse
A 7950 GT could easily play Crysis on 'Medium' settings. You could probably even set shaders or textures to 'High'.
My experience with Crysis seems to be different than most people's; while I didn't like the parts with the North Koreans, I thought the alien levels were pretty damn fun. There was more fighting, action, and other things going on that I really liked. That part of the game only lasts a little over 2 hours, though. =( When you jump online, the multiplayer is very fun if you can find people that work together. When you're playing with a bunch of idiots though, it's mostly just frustrating.
As for the other games, I didn't really like Bad Company. The enemies were pretty stupid and the game didn't seem all that challenging. Granted, most people are playing it for the multiplayer, so that probably won't matter. I didn't really see anything great or new about it, but it's probably fun online. On MGS4, I haven't played it, so I don't have an opinion.

Saying crysis is generic pretty much invalidates anything you say. Something like Halo 3 is generic, not crysis. Crysis does many things never done before, halo does nothing original.
I say get Crysis, easily. If you only have money for one game, then it probably needs to be one that will last you awhile. None of those console games will do that. Crysis will continue to get modded and you'll continue to get new experiences out of the game for a long time to come. You'll also get to save some of that $60 since you can probably find it for $30 if you look hard enough (won't cost more than $40 anywhere).
This is Tough actually i think Crysis will give you an overall longer gameplay time but MGS4 is an experince to be had
if you already are a BF fan BFBC i think is a skip for the hardcores
CRYYYYYYYYYSSISSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
I haven't played Bad Company, but the word seems that its not anything remarkably better than BF2. I haven't played MGS4 either, so I can't give an informed opinion on that one.
