im going to be blunt, game technology advanement has come to an end, and its all thanks to the popularity of the ancient consoles. i question why ATI, nvidia, intel, amd continue to launch newer more powerful hardware, when NO dev will EVER use it. you know for a fact that there is not one game maker that will ever make use of quad core procs, hell, im not even sure how well they have used daul cores at this point. no dev would ever think of making use of high end hardware for fear that it will not sell at all due to the high requirements.

all the big name devs like crytek, epic, and even id software are all focusing on consoles from now on , and ignoring the PC platform.

yes, the days of better technology has come to and end, and its all thanks to the monstosities that are the ps3 and 360.

Is there like a gamespot award for like, "Troll Post of the Day"? No, seriously. Crysis sold well and even top hardware today can't quite max it at 60fps, so I don't know what you are talking about. Unreal Tournament 3 is just one example of a game that uses multithreading. And I'm sure there are many others out there that do as well, and much more to come in the future. So, yes developers are using the technology, you're just not paying attention. (To everyone else, sorry for feeding the troll. Sometimes I just can't help myself.)

There's also Grand Theft Auto 4 and a few others but like TC is saying is it really worth it? It's no wonder Nividia is pulling out of the high end market. I always wondered how they were making money anyway releasing all these high end cards every few months.

I disagree. I personally find computer gaming (not that I do any) to be much more enjoyable than console gaming. btw, I don't want to sound like an idiot, but what does op stand for?

I don't think the TC is 100% correct, but he has a point about these constant stream of new hardware when a good portion of it will go unused because we don't have the large number of dedicated PC devs willing to build these games with the PC in mind specifically. I don't think the PS3 and 360 are ancient as of yet, that's stretchin it a little too far. Some of those console games are pretty good, even when they're ported over to the PC.
