I should have bought the Xbox 360 or PS3 version of Battlefield 3 instead!

A few days ago I bought BF3 Limited Edition for my PC. The worst thing I hate about this game on the PC is that I need Origin running to play it and I need to an internet connection for Origin account verfication each time I play this game on my PC. I click on the BF3 shortcut icon then it loads the web broswer and then I click on Campaign and then the actual game starts loading butthrough the web browserand then I'm in the game's menu. Also I had to install a plug-in forthe web browswer andcouldn't install the plugins succesfully the first time and had to do it again and exit my web browswer so that I could start the game. Also I have to disable my internet secruty software or else the game won't load most of the time. I would have prefered not having Origin and going straight to the game after clicking my shortcut. Also I need my Origin account verified each time I launch the game. What happen to the days of just installing a game and then leaving the disk in the DVD drive in order to play a PCgame without all this nonsense DRM?

Also even though I can use my Xbox 360 controller in the game, sometimes the fight buttons won't respond on the controller and I have to use the keyboard to fight reliably, and the letters on the screen don't correspond to the Xbox 360 controller if I use it, only keyboard and mouse buttons. I might as will use the keyboard and mouse the whole time I play it.

Also sometimes I get huge stuttering for the first2 seconds when restarting a checkpoint. Something like this shouldn't happen on a i7-2600k / 16 GB RAM rig. However, it does run smoothly most of the time on my machine aside from those stutters that I mentioned.

If I would have bought the Xbox 360 or PS3 version I wouldn't have to deal with Origin being required to run the game and not have to go through all these hoops to start this game.

If Origin wasn't required to run the game and it had no web browswer interface I have to go through before starting the actual game and my Xbox 360 controller worked reliably in this PC game then my thoughts about his game would be positive.

Id rather have the better version personally, which is the PC version.

Im not 100% set on battlelog but its not all that bad to me after awhile. I prefer how BC2 was for servers,etc.. but this Battle log and Origin doesn't make me wish I bought the inferior version.

Ive played both 360 and PC version of BF3 adn its not even close, PC version destroys it. Better grahics, better performance, 64 players instead of 24, the maps are bigger in size,etc..

I dont know if Id be willign to trade all that in just to not have Origin. Sounds like PC's are a bit to much for ya, maybe get xbox or ps3 versions of games from now on? PC gaming is not for everyone.

It's not that PC's are too complicated for me. It's just that I prefer the simplicity of consoles.

Now I get a message saying Origin is experiencing problems with game activation after I click on the BF3 icon and this is a legit copy. F**ck this! That's it, I'm selling my GTX 580 after I beat the single player campaign in BF3.

Yeah I was expecting the worst thing ever when I heard about Origin, but its actually nto to bad. Somethings in the Battle log and Origin could be improved but for how new Origin is it sure runs well.

Battlelog in the beta was enough for me to switch to the xbox version. If offline bots ever get modded in, I'll pick up the pc version too.

Yeah, it's either the console version or PC version. The console version works, but looks less good. The PC version doesn't really work that well yet and you have Origin and Battlelog, which are both pretty much redundant. The PC version does look better though.

Don't generalize at least the only people complaining about BF not working right on the internet is the people that are having the problems.....the other millions of people are playing the game. I know it sucks when "S" doesn't work right but most of use aren't having issues. I haven't had a problem yet with any of it. I don't like having to have origin for my one game on my computer but i love Battlelog!

PC version doesn't work? What?

Only issue Ive had so far is lag in a few servers and the fact that we had to update PB today as servers were kicking us out. Other then that Im ahving a blast, done all the coop levels, played an hour or two of campaign and done about 15 hours of the multiplayer.

Or are you talking about how origin is having an issue with activating the game?

Some people it might be experiencing BF3 nto working as you say, but a ton of people are playing it fine.

Game defiantly needs some patches but as far as it "doesnt really work" I gotta dissagree, its also runnign at a much better FPS I expected to.

The activation servers are down as we speak, that pretty much means that everyone who has bought the game and has yet to activate it can't play the game. I'm not generalizing when I say that Battlefield 3 on the PC didn't have a fresh start and the game isn't working as intended. Of course, a lot of people are playing without problems, but you can't deny the fact that way too much people are having difficulties with playing the game. This and loads of people complain about Origin and Battlelog.

origin sucks this sint anything new.. we knew this before bf3 was even put on that horrid platform.

they should keep gamesoff it. borderlands suffered under the strain of gamespy.. now its on steam. wvee gone through this before. i only hope they wake up and smell the coffee like 2k did.

the fact is this no one other than steam creates a communal DD system quite as good. and when they mvoe it over and come to their senses (or at min move it to GFWL) the better.

Meh Battlelog isn't that bad, I wasn't kool with having to launch all of these windows at once but BF3 is worth it. I haven't had any of the problems you have stated tho :?. My main gripe with it now is that I can't change key bindings, graphic settings etc. out side of the game.

You wish you had gotten the ps3/xbox version eh even with a good pc you have? Interesting. So you would rather 12 vs 12 at the most, worst graphics and just not as fun due to such low player count? well you are one of a kind sir and if thats what you enjoy try trading it in lol.

true, if you've flown them in bf2 or other bf games its pretty easy. That said I like using a 360 controller in bf3 for jets. easier to dogfight to me

I've been following battlefield on twitter and it seems like they've had more issues with their servers on the console versions than PC. Both have been buggy at launch to be honest.

I have the Playstation 3 version as well and believe me it's a million times better on PC. Pulling off precise shots seems much harder than other console FPS's and the graphics (no surprise here) are not too purdy after playing the PC version. Still impressive for consoles, but I've been spoiled by my computer.

Geez, what a joke...If you want the REAL version PC is the only way to go. Yes Origin sucks and is a pain in the ass to use but I'll take the massively upgraded graphics, more than double the players and double the framerate. You are compaining about nothing...

If you want to fix the crappy controls all you need to do is use the better "controller", the mouse and keyboard.

You can use 360/PS3-controllers on PC. Or better yet, joysticks!

You think this is complicated, then you obviously didn't play PC GAMES before the advent of DirectX and windows support. PC games use to have to be run from MS-DOS, and they usually required a Boot disk which you had to write yourself often for each individual game.

Personally I hate games that require some client to run. Over the years I've gotten over steam but I refuse to ever install origin on my pc.

ShimmerMan

I started PC gaming 18 years ago which was the time DOS and Windows 3.1 were standard. I played games that required DOS back then and I know how to create a boot disk. I also have an associates degree in Informational Technology Support and I'm A+ Certified. I don't think it's complicated.
