i like the game most because of its great landscape and how it change every few miles...

i find the combat a bit crappy to start with the way your hits/casts miss alot of the time...

their seems to be alot more to do...

your charchter is slow and weak compaed to oblivion...

overall its a fun game!

My tip: When dungeon crawling, pay attention. You'll find some of the greatest gear in places you wouldn't expect to look.

The capricity of that game was great. Different places = different places unlike Oblivion where 3 of the towns looked like the same damn place.

Morrowind > Oblivion.

i know this might sould a bit cliched on forums, but i too agree that morrowind is better that oblivion. bethsoft effectively killed the exploration factor of oblivion by making everything look the same. also quick travel ruined it too. and combat is not fun anymore since there is an active leveling system, where all the enemies level up as you do. im still loking for a good 360 rpg, is two worlds any good? ive heard is kinda like the generic hack-n-slash rpgs you find in wally world bargain bins that i actually find quite entertaining.

my experience with Morrowind and Oblivion were that I actually played Oblivion first then played Morrowind, and this was my conclusion. They switched the games. Morrowind is a very deep and complex game that requires the player to have wits and intellect. Oblivion was great, don't think I'm not saying that but what Oblivion lacked was the depth that Morrowind had. When you created a character, it was a very specific process. You had 3 types of blade skills to choose from in Morrowind, Long Swords/Short Swords and Daggers. In Oblivion it's just blades with all the blade types put into one. While some would say that this saves time from having to master all three, I respectfully disagree by saying that specializing in 3 blade types is better for your character because it shows more of who your character is.

There's a ton of other things that makes Morrowind much more deep than Oblivion, I personally love both, this is just what I noticed and gave the best example of how Morrowind was a deeper game.

In conclusion, Morrowind was a much more realistic game in terms of character development and skills. If Morrowind had Oblivion's graphics and engine then Morrowind would be a perfect game. In my opinion they have to remake Morrowind with updated graphics like in Fallout 3.

Two Worlds is OK, if you can handle the ****ty dialog. It's uber-bad and fun to listen to at the same time, lol. The guilds, the quests and so on are decent, the graphics are decent, hell, everything is decent in this game. That's the problem, nothing really stands out. Well, except the crappy dialog. If you find it in the bargain-bin, go for it. I personally would not give more than 10 bucks for it today.

I had a fun time playing it, but it's no Morrowind, that's for sure.

And yeah, MW is a fantastic game. One of a kind imo. I hope Beth goes back to MW-styIe of gameplay in it's next installment: deep. If Oblivion 2 comes out, then I'm done with this franchise.

Yeah, even though I had several hundred great hours with Oblivion - it still stands out far and wide as my single greatest gaming disappointment ever. It just seemed so dumbed down and shallow in comparison to Morrowind. Level and loot scaling were at the top of my large list of complaints with it.

If you want to level up fast, make athletics and acrobat minors. Then jump around while you're traveling. Lol. That's my third favorite game of all time. There's a good 120 hours of gameplay in that one. 3rd best story ever.

I dont get how everyone who dumps on Oblivion cites the level scaling as the one feature they hate most, yet theres several mods that fixes this.

I do not think that Bethesda should have to fall back on the modding community to fix their mistakes. It shouldn't have had to be fixed to begin with. The game should have shipped without level scaling.

Coulda woulda shoulda doesnt really matter. The fact is yes, Bethesda makes mistakes just like anyone else. The awesome thing is that modders (which they cater to) have fixed their mistake. Just like modders fixed the crap combat in Morrowind.

Seriously! I remember breaking into a house one time and trying to kill an old lady with my ax. She had a broom. She won. Everyone of my swings missed...even though i was standing right in front of her!

The problem with mods though is that they aren't necessarily balanced and often have bugs.

Yea but I think's it's kinda unneccasary to have a modding community fix your game instead of taking the time to present a well polished and highly enjoyable gaming experience. Modders had to fix Oblivion's crappy combat too btw.

You got to get Elder Scrolls games for PC, they suck on consoles. On PC It has an awesome toolset to edit the game with. Example I made one house and made a Portal to all major locations in the game with a teleport spot in the middle. I threw in 1 set of every armor and a bunch of weapons. There are texture packs and all kinds of mods to make the game better and keep it going as well.

Of all the games i played, morrowind is my fav. For tips... In caldera their is a scamp that'll buy goods for full price, he has 5k of gold on him, sell all ur stuff that he'll buy to him, and wait a few days and come back to him. That way you'll get the most out of your money, and be sure to join a guild if you havnt already and start doing those missions. Also in one of the balmoras guard towers, theirs the "sword of white woe" which goes for 17k which isnt much compared to some times, but pretty easy to get, though theirs a guard in the tower so u have to find a way around him.

Get a mod called better bodies. It has an auto-installer and makes all the models look 1000000x better and you dont have to restart or anything. There are some texture replacers around as well that make everything look better and they also can be installed at any time without any issues. Morrowind is a great game.

One of my favourite memories is from Morrowind, I cant remember the name of the city any more but when you take a stalker there its like a desert with huge windstorms. I was angry not because I couldnt see very far but because I couldnt get the sand out of my eyes. That is my definition of immersion!

Hey all, this is my first account. I'm a big fan of Morrowind and I've been hoping for a graphics update as well. I stumpled across a very very interesting mod thats going to release soon.

If there is one thing Morrowind's graphics were missing it was... grass.

http://vality7.googlepages.com/grass

This is a GRASS mod! Watch some of the videos and look and the screenshots. It looks even better than Oblivion imo.

Yeah, Morrowind did a better job of making you feel like you were in another world. I had a lot of fun playing Oblivion, but every thing down to even the modes of travel weren't as imaginative as they were in Morrowind.

can't say about Oblivion, since i never played it before....but to me Morrowind was a pretty mediocre game with tons of untapped potential. laughable dialogues and in game text as well as dreadful combat system all contribute to a passable experience. i played my character to level 15+, had about 7 to 10 mods installed ( and none of them really adds to the game, except the Redhead or whatever that gives a more detailed body texture ), and left it for good. never looked back since.

I find Morrowind better as there is lots to do and you need to play the game several times over to be part of every guild at least once. e.g. you can only be part of one of the great houses and if you become a theives guild member people in the commana tong and fighters don't like you. In Oblivion you can become part of every guild easily and it has no effect on the game or other characters what-so-ever
