I can't seem to run half the games I own (including all source-based games). I did a dxdiag test and seemed to fail at multiple points. Here are the results.

Any ideas on what I can do to fix this? I updates my drivers (twice) and got a new copy of dx 9.0c. I can't figure out what the problem could be. Thanks for any help.

Are you actually making the claim that your (tinkertoy or crackerjacks tin whistle) video card used to work on some worthwhile games? Sorry, I believe you must think that today is April first !

Actually I can run Oblivion on max settings (minus grass) at 1024x768 at about a constant 50 fps, over 100 indoors. I run counter strike-source (and basically 90% of all other source games, including episode 1) on max settings at 1152 x 864 at over 100 fps on average.

That said, I really am wondering why it randomly stopped working. Any help?

What's your definition of max settings? There's no way you're maxing oblivion at 50+fps.

To be honest that was a stupid question. What's the universal meaning for max settings? Exactly. I said I can run it on max settings (everything on max except for hdr and grass) at 1024x768 at around 50 fps, 100+ indoors. That's probably because I have a Core 2 extreme and 2 gigs of ram in conjunction with my card, but that's just how it works.

But calling me a liar about my computer performance isn't going to tell me why my card is crapping up. Now would anyone who'se willing to not ridicule my video card please come forward and post a comprehensive message? Thanks.

He makes a valid point.

Considering this benchmark...http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html?modelx=33&model1=738&model2=706&chart=294

How is it that grass and HDR are the difference between 9.4 fps and 50 fps. I don't buy that. So to us you are gravely misinterpretting your fps. Are you just guessing?

But yes, thats not the point of this topic. I have no idea whats wrong with your card, just shedding some light on what you said, because you seem to have a 1300XT that performs like an 8800 GTS

Direct3D's DxDiag shouldn't describe the XT model as being an X1550, since in fact it was a renamed X1600 Pro, which was MILES ahead of an X1300 Pro for game play.

Ok, i have no valid input for this topic, except for this. He did not ask you too rate his graphics card. he asked you to help him with an issue. which, im sure alot of you know the answer to and are unwilling to post it because of a claim that may or may not be true that has no bearing on the reason the thread was made.

I smell BS.

It's a fricken X1300. Many people have tried running games on it, only to fail.

That being said, I would suspect overheating. :/

There's no way he could run Oblivion with that kind of FPS with anything near that card.

Sorry there, squad, but you aren't paying enough attention. The X1300 CANNOT have done what is claimed for it here. If it never did perform properly, who can judge when/if it had a mechanical failure at some point during whatever truthful operations it could and did carry out? No one can offer help when the real facts are being withheld or otherwise exaggerated.

Squad was right about one thing, he really doesn't have any valid input for the topic lol.

I second that.

And my advice is to uninstall directx, your drivers, and then install them again.

Of course you're all just ***es. Really who cares what he said his frame rate in oblivion is and what settings he played.
