So I think COD4 is great, I'm having a blast with the multi-player, and the single player was incredible. But I'm getting a bit sick ofgames with MP andSP. Just look at Bioshock. Its long, (20 hours on the first play through) its fun, and tells a great story. No multiplayer component. I feel like games are sacrificing SP just to satisfy the bigger crowd. I want another SP only FPS that will take me a while to finish. Reason why? I just prefer Single-Player. I love following a story, finding all of the plot twists and such, shooting up NPC's. I want to get the feeling that I'm an important character in the world. Not just another soldier who's about to get killed.

What do you guys think?

I am going to recommend to you Hellgate: London I am not sure if you are in to those type of games. The game does have a FPS element to it which the game is kind of never ending... Also Crysis looks like its going to be pretty good on the SP more than the MP... I am not sure how long the SP clocks in at, but I am sure it will be decent...

Ah damn, when I saw the title to this theread I was gonna say Bioshock, I can't think of my favorite SP only FPS, but I'm glancing at my collection and I saw Condemed Criminal Origins, that's a pretty good game and it's got a pretty low price tag, should be 20-30 bucks, it's kind of short gonna guess like, 10-12 hours unless you rush through, but I've replayed it about 2 or 3 times.

I've thought the same thing. I enjoy the chaos and frenetic action of a good multiplayer match, but sometimes I wonder if we're all being conned into paying full price for a game, then doing half the development ourselves in theguise of user-createdcontent. I could be way off on that, but sometimes I wonder.

Vampire the Masquerade bloodlines is amazing. Best game I've ever played, well I'm still playing it years later. It's totally single player and while it's an RPG not a shooter you can take a ranged combat path. I love the game. It's at least worth a shot. I mean what have you got to lose. It's ogtta be pretty cheap these days.

STALKER w/ mods is the best FPS to come around in awhile. Without mods, its good. I've played almost all the FPS games from the last 5 years and STALKER w/ mods is the best I've played in a long time.

I did play the Demo for Crysis and was blown away. If you have a fairly new comp, then Crysis is a must play.

It's been mentioned but yes, HL2 has a SP game that is outstanding and is in no way compromised by the MP aspect. Riddick: EFBB was one of the most pleasant surprises of recent years and if you want a good FPS - particularly one that emphasises SP you would be doing yourself a favor to check it out. It's under 30 hours - short but a blast to play and the graphics - while becoming dated are still quite impressive. Seriously, check out Riddick because you'd have to have been on an island since 2003 not to have already tried out HL2. LOL

You should definately get Deus Ex. The multiplayer wasn't at the initial release and was added seperately through a patch. If you've never played Deus Ex now is the time to do so.

Crysis is more for the Sp than the MP, It's about 15 hours minimum, 20+ if you do your objectives in all the different ways and such. I'm only getting Crysis for the SP, Hellgate: London and TF2 take up all my MP hours.

bishock took you 20 hours? :o

crysis is out soon, it has a lengthy single player, it also has multiplayer but you can just ignore that part.
