How much are you looking to spend? I'm sure you have a number...

Also would you need Keyboard, mouse, OS, etc

A $600 Custom PC could run it on Ultra imo.

Edit: Depends if you need monitor/KB&M that would bump the price up a fair bit.

I was going to suggest the Llano.

I've got one running my Home Theater PC, and it runs Batman AA at 1080p, near max settings at 40 FPS. Dirt 3 mid-high settings 40 fps, and SC II medium -high settings over 30 FPS.

Definitely worth it for a budget build. And easy to upgrade from there, just pick up a $200 discreet card in a couple of years.

My old rig (which is almost the same as the one in my sig except it had 2GB's of ram and a GTS250) used to max the game at at 1680x1050 (have an old samsing 225bw monitor, cant believe after all these years it still functions). Anyway you should have no trouble getting a PC (w/o mouse/kb and monitor) for around $400-$500 that can max out SC2.

MicroCenter - wonderful computer store. There are a couple in CA, might be worth checking into to see if you leave near one. They can teach you or you can get help picking out parts and they can test (here in MN, they tested my younger brothers MB, CPU and RAM for free after purchase to make sure it worked) and/or build the rig for you.

You can find good combo prices on AMD CPU + MB and same with Intel CPU + MB. To stay in your budget, AMD would be ideal.

I'm not sure about Fry's, but I'm guessing they would probably offer something similar in customer service.

Fry's has bad customer service, plus they try to check your receipt when you leave, like you paid for a membership or something, whenever I leave and they ask to check my reciept, I just tell them no.
