I deleted a really large file yesterday, and now I want it back. Can anyone recommend a powerful (free) program that will let me do that?

Why do I have a feeling that this thread was intented for the lulz cuz I certainly got one?

Anyways well if you deleted it from the recycle bin then well it's over, you cant get it back. And if as you say it was a really large file then chances are that it never went to the recycle bin and was deleted directly which you cant recover.

That's not true...Windows just marks the files "deleted", until you overwrite them. I doubt the file was overwritten, cause the hard drive is fairly big and has alot of space. I just need an program to recover it

I seriously doubt that man.If it was possible, you wouldnt need any program for that and it would have been an options in windows.

And what you are saying doesnt really make sense.

look around, he's right, the files are on the hard drive but will be written over and are no longer displayed. i don't know if system restore wil bring it back or not. try that first, if not, look into programs.
