Don't do restore youll have huge problems and headaches. Backup work or documents, pictures to a cd. Put XP disk in cd-rom, format and install. Whats the problem??

Go into BIOS and into advanced features and set boot up sequence with CD-ROM first.

Like they said, but in order:

1. Backup all your important files, game saves, photos, videos, etc to a CD/DVD or to a separate hard drive.

2. Insert the XP CD, restart your computer and press F1 or DEL as the computer is loading up to enter the BIOS.

3. In the BIOS, go to "Boot" and change your boot sequence so that the CD/DVD drive is first to boot.

4. Save changes and restart computer. You'll probably need to press a key to boot from the CD (a message should tell you so).

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to format and install a fresh XP. If you backed up your stuff to another hard drive, which is still attached to the computer (either internal or external), be sure NOT to delete/format that one, but format your other main drive that has Vista (usually C: drive).
