Battlefield Vietnam and Battlefield 1942, since they are both dirt cheap. My question is: Does anyone still play either of these games? If so is there still a strong community? I'm also thinking about picking up the BF2 collection. I'm sure a lot of people still play BF2, so I'm not worried about that.
I have both, and I still play 1942. However, vietnam stinks. I would just stick to 1942. It has fantastic mods as well. But to better answer your question...here is the number of people currentlyplaying each:

HORRIBLE damage system and inconsitent weapon physics. The day I quit BFV was when I pumped 4 anti-tank rockets into a chopper just to have it fly away and come back repaired and re-loaded 60 seconds later.

And yes, tons of people still play BF2.. But the thing that makes me angry is the whole stomache dive that everyone does. They need to fix that IMO.. Its cheap. But that goes for all BF games not just BF2

I managed to hit a chopper with TANK SHELL once! Only to have it fly away, re-arm, and come back and kill me. I believe that was the last day I played as well :P
ok i have played all 3 and i have played battlefield 2142, i say BF2 is the best but i think BFV isn't as bad as people are saying, i love using the helicopters in the game especially the cobra. I had quite some fun playing it and i think the best levels are th eurban ones(i forgot the names). BF 1942 was fun as well becuz flying the old corsairs and zeros is fun and using shermans. Oh and if you plan on buying BF2142 plz play the demo becuz its kind of the same asBF2 justwith a futuristic mod. And another thing try getting the expansions for BF2, not so much special forces but euro force is very fun.
