@farhat: Since you got an Ivy Bridge CPU, you have an Ivy Bridge or Sandy Bridge motherboard. So you can use a an Ivy Bridge or Sandy Bridge i5.

That means you can use i5 2xxx and i5 3xxx CPUs.

You can find a lot i5s 3xxx below 200euros.

Like: i5-3330 for 179 euros.

@PredatorRules: He can't use Haswell CPU without changing his motherboard. xD

Woot my mistake - he can get used i7 2600 for 154Euros or that brand new i5 3330 that you've suggested.

@farhat: Well as I said before, you can take any i5 3xxx/2xxx. Even i7s.

The problem is their availability. I can only find the one I linked and i5-3550 3.3GHz for 209 euro, but the problem is that it costs 9 euro more :P.

ps: Nope, you cannot overclock with this motherboard.

As been said can't OC, i5 (ivy is still strong CPU)

i7 is a bit more powerful BUT it's a risk taking old used CPU that it's warranty wore off.

@farhat: Yeap, i5 3550 is like the i5 3570K in terms of turbo, which means, when the system will ask for more CPU performance, it can go even 400MHz higher, up to 3,7GHz.

@farhat: I know, I told you too :P.

Turbo is not a manual overclock. Turbo is just an automatic "overclock" to your CPU when the OS/software demands it.

From Intel:

Intel® Core™ i5-3550 Processor (6M Cache, up to 3.70 GHz) - ARK

Max Turbo Frequency: 3.7 GHz

The best is i5 3550 if you want to give 9 euros more.
