I5-2500k or i5-3570k

I'm building a new rig and I just saw the prices for the CPUs. Both are about the same I plan on getting a 670 and then eventually an other to SLI. What I'm wondering is if I should go with Ivy or Sandy?

Over clocking I plan on puttting on an asus sabertooth and using an h100 water cooler.

Which one should I go for?

Also pricing I'm looking at is Microcenter.

Go with the the ivy bridge, it's newer technology and performs a bit better. The only problem it had was that it got a bit too hot but you have an h100 so that won't be a problem.

The difference isn't very substantial but you might as well go for the 3570k since it is only $20 more which isn't very much given the full cost of the processor.

Is the 3570k a better match though for the 670?

- If you want to overclock go Sandy

i would also add if you dont know then ask yourself how long do you want this mobo and cpu to last? if its over 2 years then I would say sandy so you can OC cuz if you dont want to now, the idea will creep into ur head by then. these cpus are super powerful so reasonably you will want it to last that long. ive had a i7 930 for over 2 years and I cant forsee replacing it in the near future its still a great chip even if newer ones are faster now.

Umm using a Noctia heatsink and getting 26C. havn't everclocked thou. using a i7 one thou.
