I am building a new computer rig and originally selected the build:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU: Intel Core i7-930 Bloomfield 2.8GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80601930

RAM:ECORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX6GX3M3C1600C7

but now I have been recommended to do the following build for similar performance and a MUCH cheaper price:

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P55A-UD3 LGA 1156 Intel P55 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

CPU: Intel Core i5-760 Lynnfield 2.8GHz 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80605I5760

RAM:G.SKILL ECO Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBECO

My question is: Would there be a nuge noticeable performance difference between the two builds?

I would be using a GTX 470 GPU with this, will probably not SLI or cross fire, but still be hoping to play a few of the upcoming games on ULTRA settings. The 2nd build saves me about $350, so I am looking towards you guys for some help.

I vote for Build 2. The main reason being you do not intend to Crossfire or SLi. It's also cheaper as you say, and won't limit you really.
