Hey guys, I need to get a laptop for college and I came across this one on ibuypower.com, the Battalion 101 CZ012 15.6" - it's base price is $949. Wondering if any of you have this laptop? Is it a good buy for a gaming laptop? I basically want to be able to play the latest games with a decent framerate on normal settings.

Here are the specs (I customized it, adding more RAM and selecting a smaller, faster hard drive):

  • 15.6" Full HD 1920x1080 Widescreen display
  • Intel Core i7-2630QM Mobile Processor - quad core 2.00GHz(turboboost up to 2.90GHz) / 6MB L3 Cache
  • 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M 2GB video card
  • 320 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive
  • Windows 7 home premium

Price: $1,013 (my budget is around $1000)

What do you think? It seemed like this was the best deal I could find for my budget (please don't tell me to get a desktop :P)

I dont like that proccessor, something just doesnt seem right about it, and this is just from what I heard(from these forums) BUT the 540m isnt supposed to be that great for games.

Well I'm looking at your options on that site and what you have is pretty much the best you can get for that price.
