1. Ibuypower isn't as horrid as people describe it. For every 1 bad experience there are hundreds of good ones. The problem with the internetz is that the ones with the bad experiences are much more vocal.
2. I agree with the poster above, your local computer store (something along the lines of Microcenter if you have one near, definitely recommend them) will build the PC for you at a very small charge in comparison to buying prebuilt. As stated, but the parts from Newegg or whoever, possibly even the store itself if they have a good deal.
Ignore the horror stories. Ibuypower has become much better than they used to be. They have a 9.26/10 rating in the last 6 months which is very, very good.
99.9999% of every computer part you buy will come with a manual and tell you how to put it together. If you give a budget, I'm sure there are plenty of people here that can give you a list of what to get. Putting it all together is about as hard as following the directions to put a new bike together.
A lot of people are saying build your own, but I don't really think I have the knowledge of components, compatiblity between parts, and all that sort of stuff. Is it hard to find compatible hardware, because if it's not I guess I'll buy the parts off newegg just to save a bit of money, and have someone around here build it for me. Also, if someone could list some good hardware configs for a budget of 3k (excluding tax) that would be cool. Thanks again.ChThunderIts not that hard........and you don't even need to know 'cause we can have people that can tell you what parts are best for your budget.

has been improving. Honestly I advise you to build it yourself, you'll have fun, learn more about your computer, you'll be able to have the TRUE built you always wanted plus most important you'll save money
Yeah I guess I am gonna end up building my own, but I still could use some help with the components. Smc suggests the motherboard EVGA 141-BL-E769-A1 - $570 but whats the difference between that one and this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188049? ChThunderwell for starters, that one doesn't even have 2 x16 PCI-e 2.0 slots. And the $570 one is meant for water-cooling/extreme over-clocking.
I got an awesome PC for about 550.....at least I think it's a good one......2.66 AMD Phenom X4 Quad Core processor, 500 GB Hard Drive, 1 GB ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics card, 4 GB Ram, misc stuff for about 600-650....my monitor cost 1/3 of my computer...I would biuld your own because it's not that bad. I'd never been inside a computer till this one and the parts all came with intructions and there is plenty of references online as well by people who've built plenty of them.
Good luck....I don't know anything about ibuypower but I figured I would share my experience
