who would you like to see get the Dungeons and Dragons license from Hasbro to make games?

D&D, in the video games aspect is getting tired and old. I'm sure the pen and paper roots will never die, but like the above poster said, I think a lot of gamers are more interested in more original, new universes for RPGs to take place in.xcryonicx
There are alot of DnD books out in the market. If a developer were to make a game out of those book. The developer could also change DnD around some so it could be more interesting for the player. Could you imagine if Bioware got the rights, they would make the whole series better.
I thought that ToEE had the best tactical combat. I don't see the appeal of real time combat where everything is a click fest. IF i wanted to play diablo i would, but i'm not I'm trying to play a D&D based game. NWN 2 wasn't nearly as good as it needed to be. I would like to see more games like this, but I is not going to happen.
Hopefully I am wrong.
I've just started playing NWN2 and so far I like it. I like having a party again as opposed NWN but I can see where some of the complaints come from. I just hope no one ever takes the liscense and tries to turn it into a hack n slash. We have plenty of them as it is.
It sounds to me like I might like Temple of Elemental Evil. I might have to check it out.

Actually, I doubt Bioware would be interested in going back to the D&D genre. They already left a substantial mark on it with Baldur's Gate 1 & 2 and Neverwinter Nights 1. In a way it would be a case of 'been there, done that'. They have their own IPs and RPG systems now, and seem to be managing fine with those.
I'm actually looking forward to Bioware's Dragon Age because it's not a D&D game. The Witcher (based on the old Aurora engine from Neverwinter Nights) also looks like it could be good, although that seems more action-oriented. Beyond that, though, there don't seem to be very many 'deep' roleplaying games in the pipeline. Everyone seems to be making Action (hack'n'slash) kinds of 'roleplaying' games or MMOs.
D&D was traditionally the style of RPG that filled that need for deeper roleplaying, but personally I think it's getting a bit stale and restrictive. There are only so many goblins, zombies and Orcs you can dispatch before it gets tired - and that was one of the problems I had with Neverwinter Nights 2: it felt like playing a more restrictive version of NWN1 with mostly the same enemies. If they could come up with a new setting, new races, new enemies and make the whole experience more dynamic and exciting, then it could be reinvigorated. But I get the feeling they're just not interested in doing that.
