Do the controls behave exactly as they would on the Xbox 360? For instance, do the character walk and not run if you push the analog stick slightly? So, aside from the obvious graphical and technical differences between the PC and the Xbox 360, would it feel exactly as playing on a console?

Sure, just remember not all games support a gamepad. Most do however and yea it should "feel" the same as in your holding a controller instead of KB/M.

Yeah, most games listed as 'Games for Windows' should feel exactly the same as playing it on the 360, since they natively have controller support built in. Not everything is going to be quite as easy though, so you may want to double check ahead of time. (For example, don't expect Crysis to run great with a controller, it was not built with one in mind)

Yeah, I plan to play most games with the K&M combo but I still feel some games require a controller. One recent example would be Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Thanks again guys! I really appreciate it. :)

Bad example Crysis has 100% 360 controller support, including rumble. :P TC - modern games with controller support will run great with a 360 controller, older games may need to be tweaked.

Yep a lot of Games for Windows and Console ports have full controller support.

But for the games that don't you'll have to map keyboard keys to controller buttons.

yah the xbox 360 controller is the best gamepad for the pc. Some games don't support it like for example call of duty modern warfare 2, mafia 2 etc.

I personally use a ps3 controller through bluetooth, and its not complicated for me, all I have to do is copy&paste two files into the installation directory of the game and everything is set up to go, controls mapped and everything ;)

They work like you'd expect them to. I just finished AC2 with a wired 360 controller and it worked perfectly (well, actually, the controls are slightly gimped but that's a problem across platforms).

Same as what everyone else has said with one exception... Many main menus don't have full support for gamepads (even 360) so you will have to use your mouse for that... but other than that it is 100% the same as on a console.

All GFWL supports it I believe. I personally like wireless better, but that route costs more.
