There are a lot of games that run better on a nvidia card, for example Metro 2033, even a GTX460 is faster than a 5870 on that game, and who dosent want free features such as physix and cuda? If Nvidia was cheaper would you choose nvdia over amd?

In other news, if a car that came with the gps is cheaper than the one that didn't come with one, the latter wouldn't start a chance.
Duh?

Well, my 5870 runs circles around my HAWK 460 in Metro 2033. Plus, when you free features like PhysX and Cuda, they run off, never to be seen again :(

If only AMD made more complex GPUs that ran faster, then they could sell them for more.

Err... shouldn't that be "if only NVidia made less complex GPUs, they could sell 'em for less"?

That too.
Or if AMD only made bigger more complex GPUs that ran faster and they could sell them for more and...
If only nvidia made less complex gpus they could sell them for less
then we could have all the fanboys be reversed.

I think the only way to reverse a fanboy will be tipping it over...
so explain these benchmarks then, 460 = 6850 which both cost much the same. Overall the 6850 won in more games than the 460 as well as using less power and making less noise. Either card is great and there is only a couple of frames between them. Also 470 = 6870 there is next to nothing between them either.

as well as your bank balance. lol price/performance is where it's at.[QUOTE="BluRayHiDef"][QUOTE="imprezawrx500"]

Witty. I like this.
you're basically paying for the research. It costs very little to actually manufacture these gpu's and cpu'sfishing666
wrong
Thus goes the way of the market. For those who want performance over price you have a choice. I always get a kick out of those that prey at the shrine of price/performance as if that's the only way to think. Sorry but most the time if you want the best quality you have to pay for it. I really don't think you'll get the best without that carrot.
Breaking news, if all AMD cards cost $10, their sales would DOMINATE nvidia.DukeDelta
When you start breaking news, you better get your bum checked...
ATI cards tend to also run much hotter and the drivers aren't as good or as optimized.

Bullocks. My 5870 idles at 38C and maxes out at 70c. I'm tired of people constantly bashing ATI cards. There's nothing wrong with them.

I am basing it off the older models, haven't tried the 5S.
My friends 4870 and my 4890 can heat a small room.
Also have an old 1900XT which runs even hotter.
My 4890 idles at 55c my friends around 60c.

Nvidia was the first company to need dual slot coolers, so if we're basing things off of old products they are hotter.
