If someone had 1 Billion dollars ?

To make a PC game, and 1 Billion dollars with todays technology........ To what detail of a single player batman game could you make?

1. think they could make every building have interiors and everything destructable?

2. think they could have such an advanced AI that you could mistake them for actual players?

3. think they could make batmans mansion so detailed that you could scratch a whole in your couch and come back weeks later and it will still be there?

4. how big you think they could make the game world?

1 billion dollars invested + Batman Game + Free Roaming + multiplayer ............................. = ???

I would use the money on upgrading Mount and Blade to a top dollar high end production with a good storyline for single player. More maps and players for multiplayer. And of course up the graphics.

Ask Activision. lol Just imagine if they would invest all the money they made from MW2 in a game. But that will never happen, greedy bastards. :x

Anyway if I had that money I would make a game that looks like the Matrix in terms of graphics. But it would be playable only at ILM's headquarters.:P

I would make the first interactive movie/MMO where events triggered by the community in game dictate the direction of the story in theatres, and make it a trilogy. The movies can be somewhat of a preview to new patches or expansions. $1 billion is a lot of money, so nothing but the best writers, directors, and development studios behind everything.

Not sure if this can be done with the Batman story which has been recycled to death, but how else are you going to spend all that money? The most expensive videogame of all time is GTA4 at $100 million.

When I played Dead Space I thought: The Thing (film) and System Shock 2.... Two of the best things ever made. Now we need Outcast remade with the Cryengine 2... oh wait... they are doing it already

I wouldn't use the whole billion on the game. I would spend a maximum of mabe 500 million and keep the rest for use on future games. That aside I would focus not soley on graphics but on making the best AI gaming has seen as well as making the most polished game ever as well. Spending more money on bug testing would be a welcome thing in most games these days. After those two things I would focus on making great textures. By that I mean the little things, the grass, tables, doors, coffee mugs, you know the little things. Sometimes thta can add a lot of realism to a game. SWAT 4 for instance had really natural looking environments in my books because the little things looked good.

I would release Alan Wake and all other Microsoft games onto PC or fund Half Life 3. Or better yet buy Blizzard.

Also buy the rights to the AVP franchise from rebellion and make a decent game :evil:
