IGN: E3 Awards

IGN have announced their awards for the best games at E3:

I don't understand how Spore can beat out Fallout 3 for Best PC Game but not for Overall Game of the Show. :?

Anyway, they got one thing right: Mirror's Edge looks fantastic!

And I don't know how anyone can be more excited about Fallout 3 than Dragon Age: Origins.

Gears of War 2 beat Crysis in the graphics award?

Yeah I was a bit surprised by that.

I don't care about fallout 3 or dragon age :P.

But IGN is stupid to think Gears of war 2 graphics > Crysis. I think they are a little co co.

Spore looks fantastic (as in it looks fun). I can't wait for spore, crysis warhead, tom clancy's endwar for sure baby :D.

Proof? Gears of War 2 = Graphics King and Shooter King (against Crysis Warhead, Far Cry 2 and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky)

I'm glad to see that L4D got recongnized in one of their awards though.

Perhaps round-table voting among all editorial staff (PC, 360, PS3, etc) and maybe they were more impressed with what was being squeezed out of Gears 2 on a 360 than Crysis on a PC --- which is more of a foregone conclusion that it's going to look great. Who knows.

Anyway, if you check the IGN PC's Best of E3 2008 Awards, they gave Crysis Warhead both Best First-Person Shooter and Best Graphics Technology acknowledging "Even a year later, nothing comes visually close to Crysis. Nothing, that is, except Crysis Warhead" ;)

IGN awards are a bit like the oscars.

They aren't worth a **** and often chose wrongly.

Actually I am not talking about it getting it the shooter award. Look at the "also coming to"

Anyone with functioning eyes will tell you that Crysis: Warhead is the most graphically impressive game in development. It's not up for discussion. If it were up for discussion, you sure as hell wouldn't bring up Gears of War 2. Gears 2 winning best shooter is arguable (although they did have to mention "console shooter"), Fallout 3 should be nowhere near a best graphics award, Dragon Age should have won best RPG.

It just goes to show; you can't spell ignorance without IGN.

EDIT: Hang on. How can the best console game (Fallout 3) be worse than the best PC game (Spore), but still win best game of the show?
