Hey all, I'm getting a new computer in about a week here, and I need to know what is the best I can get? I'll give you a couple things of what I want. The best computer I can get for my money. I would like to have a 512 MB for graphics card, but I can go to 256 if it is uncustomizable. I want a fast processor speed, and a computer that is able to play Tabula Rasa, and maybe even Crysis I think it's called, but I don't NEED something that good, I would just like it. I'm already looking at the Area-51 7500. I want to link the site but this won't let me. So please if you have any better ideas, my budget is 1000$-2000$ and I want a good gaming computer, with hopefully the stuff above listed, and maybe some good peripherals added along. Please help me, and thank you for your time!

That is a pretty wide budget range..For $2000 you can build yourself a smokin system.

I'd go Core2Duo with dual processor support, 8GB Ram Vista no swap drive http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/02/15/vista_workshop/

zaku101

wow

dont talk if you dont know what your talking about

ubuypower and cyberpower are the worst to buy computers from they ship broken computers in many cases where the cases are dented DOA parts and the worst customer support on the planet.

but hey if you want to waste $1000 be my guest

dont buy the area 51 pc alienware is a ripoff and you can build a computer with the same parts if not better parts for about 1000-3000 dollars cheaper depending on what you customazie

id suggest going to www.newegg.com and look for the parts needed

look for this

CPU - intel core 2 duo E8400

MOBO - gigabyte P35 DS3L motherboard

RAM - 2X1GB ram from g-skill DDR2- 800 PC2-6400 240pin

power supply - corsair vx550w psu

video card - 8800gts 512MB (G92) EVGA

case - cooler master centurion 5 cac case

Hard drive - any seagate HDD size of your choice that is sata 3.0GB/s

Given that you don't appear to know much about building your own computer, I'd suggest Uberclok, AVA Direct, or Puget Systems.

Play around with a few builds there, then we can help you out further.

Avadirect is one of the best for such purposes imho. Their prices are reasonable for pre-built pcs for people who dont know how to do it(though its easy) or for who dont have the time. But if you want to still save more bucks then definitly you need to do it on your own. Newegg is very good place to buy from vecause of their hell cheap prices and sales
