The resident PSU guru on the [H] forums has compiled a pretty good recommended PSU list. I went with the Corsair 520HX and it's so far been the most stable PSU I've ever used.

If you are not a) gaming in SLI or Crossfire,  b)using dual hard drives,  or c) using dual optical drives, I would recommend this Power supply

ive had several threads like this this week, figuring it out. ended up getting lots of answers and reviews on about 12 different kinds, recommended by gamespot people. and we all concluded on the corsair 520 watt one .which should be in my hands tuesday. i highly recommend it, as it has perfect reviews and no reviews of it dying out, unlike most. this thing is powerful, decent price, looks nice, and has the power to handle 2 8800s gtx

I posted a small list with good PSU's that are really worth their price and equality in performance in your other thread, here: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=25453120 I'll just copy-paste the good ones here again: FSP Group (Fortron Source) FSP550-80GLC-R - $110 ENERMAX Liberty ELT500AWT ATX12V 500W - $110 SeaSonic S12-500 ATX12V 500W - $125

how big is your case? if it fits then no unless yours is ugly and you want a new one. make sure the 8600 and your new power supply work with your current motherboard. if it fits then jsut keep your case till you feel like spending mroe money

it might, bc theres already a psu in thre for a normal desktop case. and as long as your mobo fits a pci-e card or whatever 8600, then youre good. but hey, why not give the new stuff a nice new home huh?

most people on the forums will call you names and say its easy. but if youve never done it before, it can be confusing. get a good look in the inside of your cause, and usually puting them in another, the same way. but you cant just put parts from yours, say into your moms computer. if you got gaming parts, you gotta make sure its going with motherboard and power supplies made for gaming parts. if you dont have a friend or someone that knowns a lot about comptuers and has a up to date gaming computer, i wouldnt try this, as you will only break something.
