Im Looking for a game that has a good mage class

The melee classes were definately more fun in NWN, that's just an opinion on my part though.

NWN 2 was pretty bad though...

Maybe Hellgate London when the game comes out...

But its one of those that worry me... Its a spiritial successor of some sort to Diablo II...

God, I hope it doesn't suck!

Hellgate London looks pretty sick. I'm glad they didn't make it another stupid MMO.

And Diablo 3 is in the works! Hopefully that's not going to be an MMO either...

where did you hear diablo 3 is being made?

I saw a video for it a while ago on blizzard's website I believe, It could have been another site. But it was for sure a Diablo 3 video.

Vanilla Oblivion pure mage class is terrible without mods :?

Guild Wars had an interesting spin on the "mage" class, nothing too spectacular but all that I could think of that wasn't your standard AD&D mage. Otherwise most MMO's have a standard, fireball hurling mage class.

Shoot, maybe try a plasmid heavy character in Bioshock if you really want to torch/shock/freeze stuff.

Also, you can always give the mage in Dungeon Siege 2 a shot, interesting spin on it.
