Unless this is a poor attempt at trolling, if a game doesn't interest you, don't worry about it.

Simple, eh?

A game needs to make you say wow when you first see it or you'll probably regret buying it. So forget this game and wait for a ton of other great titles coming out this year.

Myself i liked the graphics alot and game looks like it requires strategy, I just know gonna get my ass kicked over and over but still getting it since it looks unique and fun.

1. Thank god it's not another boring futuristic or modern combat FPS. It's refreshing. In my opinion, the art style is rather unique and well thought-out, and the weapons seem appropriate for the setting and storyline. 2. What the hell games have you been playing? 3. Agreed, but at least they bring a lot of variety to the game, and they'll probably all be useful in some situation or another. Actually, the plasmids kinda remind me of the spells from Clive Barker's Undying, which were awesome. I can't imagine why anyone would need convincing to play Bioshock. It just looks like it's going to be a really great game.

While I agree that Bioshock has a lot going for it, and that it's innovations and stylishness are impressive...I just can't get interested in Bioshock. I've watched numerous trailers and a couple of interviews, but for some reason, it just doesn't jump out at me as being very enjoyable.

It's a shame, because I really like the premise.

The text in bold are the ones that don't make sense to me.

Yeah, I'm fairly sure this is a retarded attempt at trolling.

actually I can see the ugly looking design, it's like midth 20th century with tech, the weapons look quite ugly at least to me from a design standpoint, but it's going for a different look. I certainly can't say the game looks ugly though.

I can understand that. All we've really seen so far is a handful of videos showing off the basic gameplay, which bears a striking resemblance to that of System Shock 2. But if you remember, SS2 didn't exactly have spectacular gameplay either. What made that game so special was the sense of immersion it gave you through the chilling storyline and your detailed interaction with the environment around you. But on the surface, it was still just a FPS/RPG hybrid with an interesting premise, and Bioshock appears to have many of the same properties. So maybe anticipation for Bioshock has been preceded with a little too much hype, but so far, the game looks to be an awesome successor to the "Shock" line of games, which is exactly what Irrational is going for. I can also tell you that my main draw to the game is that it looks like it will present more dynamic and meaningful challenges than other FPSs we've seen in recent history, rather than the same old "take out guards, infiltrate base, plant explosives" gameplay that has been so rampant over the past several years. On a related note, I miss weapons like the voodoo doll from Blood. :P

This is not the sort of game you buy for the graphics alone. The gameplay is the main selling point - and it will almost certainly deliver in that area.

Still, if you're undecided, wait for the reviews, watch a few post-release vids, and then see if you want it.

I think its worth going for the gameplay, as great graphics and no gameplay make nothing.

System Shock 2 didn't have the best graphics but as pointed out before, its still one of the games I remember due to the immersion factor and some of the nice bits, e.g. hacking sentry guns and then waiting until a gang of mutants try to cross that area.
