I'm thinking about getting caught up with the STALKER games.

So there are three STALKER games from what i've seen.Shadow of Chernobyl,Clear Sky, andCall of Pripyat. Are all three of them worth playing? Which mods would you guys recommend? (I've heard the game looks beautiful heavily modded). Help me out! Thanks.

All 3 are worth playing. Set the difficulty to the highest research some Mods that improve performance or stop a few bugs / get patches and prepare to play a game that will kick your butt if your not careful. I played all of them with no Mods what so ever but the Mod community is very active.

I would recomment getting used to hitting F6 every 10th second before playing on the hardest difficulty.

If you get Clear Sky, mod it to death. Otherwise, you're getting a horribly-designed, frustrating experience.

SoC and CoP are solid though.

Since you're new to the series I would start with Call of Pripyat. It's by far the most polished and well-designed of the series out of the box. It's the sort of thing you'll either love or hate. If you like it you can then move on to Shadow of Chernobyl and then if you still want some more try Clear Sky.

I recommend playing SoC first it has the best atmosphere out of the three and then CoP its as stated above bug free out of the box then CS, my experience with CS is when I first played through my saved game got corrupted about at the middle of the game and I only had 1-3 saved games, one being the most recent and the others way back at the beginning of the game(I had to start all over) also the faction system is seriously flawed. SAVE VERY OFTEN, and the game by my experinece is the most enjoyable on the highest difficulty.

And look at some videos on youtube for mods see what you like but I recommend play vanilla the first time through.
