To start, I'm not looking for gaming capabilities. Just music and movies basically. It has 128 MB Ram, 20 GB Harddrive, Asus TXP4 motherboard, and 233 MHz processor. Suggestions for upgrading?

That's pretty damn old - the only reasonable upgrades I can think of for your machine would be getting 512MB of RAM, and an 80GB hard drive. Possibly a cheap PCI video card like a Radeon 9250 for AGP. All that stuff together shouldn't cost more than $150 tops. Of course, you could buy a better computer for $300 used than that.

To upgrade that PC you will need a shotgun. Take the PC to the shed behind the house and tell Billy your gonna upgrade it. Bring the shotgun and well everything else is self explanatory.

actually if u go to tigerdirect.com u can get a brand new (but kind of outdated) motherboard + cpu combo for 70 bucks. u get an amd sempron 1.8 ghz. also buy some cheap ram about 256-512. and get like a 40gb hd. $200-$250.

his motherboard probably cant even support 512 mb
