I had a laptop with somewhat similar specs (MSI GX620: C2D @ 2.4GHz, 9600M GT 512MB) and it ran SC2 reasonably well at the lower detail settings; it certainly wasn't a slideshow like you described above. Mind you this was on Windows; I have no idea how well it'll run on a Mac OS.

I think your confused it can not possibly have a 9400m and a 9600 GT, but I think your graphics cards are underpowered. a 9400m is about on par with the Intel integrated HD3000 in the CPU's it may not be able to run SC II much at all

I'm pretty sure it's correct. I remember reading about this back when the 9600M GT equipped macbook pro launched; that it could switch between a 9400M GT and 9600M GT presumably to save power when the extra graphics horsepower wasn't needed.

Actually my brother can play SC2 on his macbook air quite nicely on super low settings

I've seen macs become abit unstable while playing games so i reccomend connecting a mouse and as soon as the game starts try to get into the settings and put eveything on low

Also u bought this from a friend/ebay right?

Also laptops and macs can't play games well.
