Now i have to upgrade to next gen. I dont have a pc. My two options are to either buy a ps4 when it would be out or build a gaming pc with 760 as the gpu. Would this gpu be future proof?
What do you guys suggest? What would be a smarter choice?

760 is better than what the next gen consoles will have, but the choice is more complicated than that. It really depends on what kind of experience you want and what games you want to play.

PC is better in about every segment but it's just a bit more expensive to get into.People buy console because they can't afford a good gaming pc and upgrades.
GTX760 is great 250$ card and will last for about 3 years on 1080p.
Pc exclusives vs console excl.- i prefer pc exclusives like mmo, rts, strategic, thousands of web games and others. But people aren't same so you have to ask yourself what you prefer more.
What would i be missing if i select one of the two?
I am gonna try to have my father finance half the pc,thrn i would buy the ps4 and other half of the pc from my own money so that i can get best of both worlds.

I certainly wouldnt like to miss out on ps4 exclusives. Even if i build a gaming pc,ps4 is something i would get in some months. But i want to have that amazing pc experience as well.

Gaming PC and ps4 would be best duo:-).
But if i have to choose i would go definitely for PC.I'm not fanboy,i'm just being objective.
PC exclusives can give you hundreds of hours of replayability, rts, startegic, free to play, mmo. There are so many games for pc.I owned x360 and after i upgrade to PC i didn't know what i would play first,i bought so much game bundles for cheap.I own more games in this few months on PC than i ever did in 8 years on xbox.
-mouse precision -if you want to play fps only mouse can give you that speed and precision
-probably in battlefield 5 consoles will again get 24player game

I agree console exclusives are great but once you finish it in 4-5 hours you can toss the game as there are no replayability. On the other hand pc games like civilization, europa universalis, total war, planetside, war of tanks, world of warcart, arma, dayz, command & conquer, settlers, sim city, xcom, starcraft, dota, star wars, arma 3,eve (this only i can remember this minute) are all games that you can play for months/years.But only you know if you prefer those games.
I bought pc cuz of- cheap games, mouse keyboard, exclusives
