Your video card is fine, but upgrading it will unleash your rig's full potential.

Punctuation is like spice, it should be used sparingly and properly. That said, the 8600M GT isn't top of the line, but it should be able to do graphics heavy games on Medium/Low settings (has a decent 3d benchmark score). According to nVidia you should have 512MB Video RAM which is pretty good for gaming - I have an nVidia 9650M w/ 1GB Video RAM in my laptop and can run most games on High.

Hmm, looked up requirements on Google - seem kinda low for a new game:

Minimum System Requirements

  • Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 2.4 GHz or AMD(R) Athlon(TM) 64 2800+ processor or any 1.8Ghz Dual Core Processor
  • Display Card: NVIDIA(R) Geforce(TM) 6600 or better or ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9800Pro or better
  • Memory: 512MB
  • Free Disk Space: 8GB
  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP

Recommended System Requirements

  • Processor: 2.4 GHz dual core or better is recommended
  • Display Card: 3.0 Shader Support recommended. Nvidia Geforce 7800 or better or ATI Radeon X1800 or better
  • Memory: 1024MB
  • Free Disk Space: 8GB
  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP

Trying to find an official source to verify though

8GB of space? Seriously? BF2 has a LOT more content than 1943 and it's like half the size (including several 1GB+ patches).

Battlefield 2 is old, of course it is smaller.

Yeah, but unless the BF1943 engine takes up 4GB of space, where is it all going?

BF2 has 18maps (64player ****too), 7 specialities (2 unlocks a piece?), 8 nations, and a ton of vehicles.

BF1943 has like 3 maps (16player ****, 3 specialties, 6 vehicles, 2 nations, and no unlocks?

Not to mention its OLD get that part OLDDDDDDDD. Older games are always smaller. Elite 2 has a universe the size of......well a universe, yet that could fit on a floppy disk. Get it now ?

Empire:Total War is 15GB and is also older than BF1943. It's not a rule.

I'm hardly inclined to believe that the game is 8GB in size considering the pitiful amount of content it has. The textures aren't even that impressive.

Heck, Far Cry 2 is only 3.5GB. Crysis Warhead 6GB.

*Edit* Wow, I totally don't know where I got BF1943 from. I could believe that MW2 requires 8GB.
