I've had the following problem now for about 4 months, and thought it best to finally seek out some help. I've already searched around the internet for a bit, and not found anything useful to solve my problem. Well, here it goes.

My internet connection keeps cutting out. Windows Live Messenger signs me out, Xfire loses it's connection, IE fails to load pages sometimes, and video streaming can instantly stop while in the process. You get the idea. It's acting like a poor wireless connection, although it's not. It's a direct connection from this PC to my Router, which is a Livebox from Orange.

This has never happened previously, and I can't think why it's even doing this at all. It doesn't seem to make sense to me. If you're willing to help, i'd be glad of your help, and if you need anymore information from me, i'll gladly (try) and supply you with it.

Thanks for reading, GameSpotters.

are u connected to a cable modem or a DSL modem? if u are...whenever the Internet cuts out on you....go look at your modem and see if its your connection..... if thats not the problem then it may be simply the router, i would try switching out with another one that u may have lying around, or borrow a friends and see if that helps any......and have u scanned your computer viruses and spyware etc.?

What do you have to do to fix it?

Do you have to retart the computer, reset the router, or what?

I don't do anything to fix it. When it cuts out, it comes back instantly. I'm going to try another spyware/virus check today, and suggest the change of a router.

Thanks for the advice.

It's hardlined to the router, I stated that previously.
