I'll give all the details as is best in these topics.

The application is for a moblile gaming rig/bag, so size is a major factor. I found some decent sized bags that'll accomadate a gaming console and monitor with ease. So to topit off youobviously need sound.

I'm looking for something out of the ordinary it seems since I feel some of the most common speakers just aren't up to par. Namely Logitechs, good build quailty, but so lacking in the sound department. Best way I describe Logitechs sound is "boxy&hollow" with small sound. And by small sound I don't mean weak. They sound like speakers instead of it sounding like sound pouring into my ears. Theirs probably a better way for desrcibing this.

I'm no slave to brand names, but purchasing factors are size/quailty 1st, and price is a very close 2nd. 2.0 system aren't very large but if they stand say taller then8 or 9inches or wider then 4 inches(with a similar depth)then their probablyto large.
Price range of $30 to $70...I'm no audiophile (especially at that price range) but I like quality and have learned you don't need to spend out the whazoo to get it. Research has always been more important then the dollar amount IMO...

Why aren't I doing all the research? It's easier to pool from the vast knowlodgeof a collective of like minds and hobbiest.
Plus I really don't know**** about speakers...

You're not going to get a good pair a speakers for $30-$70 but I think the Corsair SP2200 are great for the price. I got mine for £40 which is about $60

I know these are more expensive than you want, but I'm still going to mention them because it sounds like what you are looking for. The UFi UCubes, apparently they sound great for the compact size since they get praise from "audiophiles". They're 150$ though. Just have a look at this user review at Head-Fi: http://www.head-fi.org/t/563998/review-ufi-ucubes-compact-portable-usb-powered-speakers-that-actually-sound-good

Maybe what you're looking for doesn't exist? Good speakers are expensive and large.

Here's an option:

-------------------------

Dayton DTA-1 T-Amp + Dayton B652 monitors ($58)

http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-650

quality - good

size - larger than you want

price - in your budget

*note, amplifier can run on battery power*

-------------------------

Audioengine A2 ($199)

http://www.amazon.com/A2-Premium-Powered-Speakers-Black/dp/B000VKEFN2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330102578&sr=8-1

quality - very good

size - within your limits

price - above your set budget

-------------------------

What you're asking for is not easy to find, or might not even exist at all (unless you're willing to try some DIY).

The Creative GigaWorks T40 series 2 aren't bad for $100 and might be a bit taller than you'd like, but if you're willing to go 2.1 instead of 2.0, you could do a lot better for the same money. The T20s are smaller, but I don't have any experience with those. If you're willing to go used, you might be able to work them into your budget.

I believe I've already found what I'm looking for in a set of 40watt Phillips and they run... 20 bucks at Wally World. (below my budget)Literally no negative reviews on build quality and next to none for SQ. (some people can't be pleased)

I've watched top of the line LED's and thought wow the PQ sucks. I've stood amongst 7.1 Bose with Yamaha receiver and thought wow, Bose produces some flat sound. (loud though)and at the end of the day thought. "How much did you spend on that ****!..WOW!!!"

People think you need top of the line everything to enjoy the experience... You really don't. Quality doesn't mean spending an arm and leg and you'll find quailty with time and a small amount of research.

Thanks for all the help people...sort of.

Nobody has claimed anything great about Bose. And all suggestions in this thread are cheap solutions. So I don't know what the fuk you are whining about.

You're posting in the A/V forums of gamespot, no one here thinks LED TVs and Bose would fit the description of top of the line. Obviously price doesn't always dictate performance, but that was a horrible example.
