which one is better and why is it better

Can't really compare. One is a constant world, other is instanced...which one is better and why is it better

I personally played both pretty extensively.
I started with Guild Wars just after Factions came out, afterwards purchased Prophecies and then Nightfall. I cleared all three campaigns and enjoyed the PVP. I totalled around 800 hours played on Guild Wars.
Then I was introduced to WoW just after TBC. Since 2007 I probably would have around 100 days played on WoW (pathetic I know) ... I've since quit playing (sober 2 months now).
I would say both games are good if you enjoy the genre. Guild Wars is the kind of game you can (or could) pop on for 20 minutes do some PVP have some fun and then just shut it off. With WoW I've found you need much more time to really progress through the game. As Casual as WOW can be if you play it the way I did it really can be for the hardcore obsessives.
If I had to do it all over again and could only play one I'd probably choose Guild Wars since WOW ruled my life.
Different games. GW is one time purchase, is it not?
WoW is subscription based MMO.
So GW.
Although WoW is the only AAA MMO...
You can't jump in GW. The obvious winner is WoW based on this alone.Inconsistancy
I second this.
I think that people pass on WoW because of the monthly fee. What they dont realize is that with that monthly fee that are getting very good customer support and constant update and moderation. For that reason I put WoW over GW

I really hope BOTH of you are joking right?lol WoW, by far, for many reasons
but GW is a good game
honestly though they are two entirely different games, though, so comparison is not really appropriate

I really hope BOTH of you are joking right?WoW is the only MMO to actually earn that 15 bucks a month. The return customers get is insane; we've gotten enough free updates and content to justify three or four "DLC" charges...for free. Blizzard is quick and helpful in returning customer complaints, especially given the size of their customers base. The community is large and generally fun, entertaining, and helpful.

The WoW community is one of the worst in the history of MMORPGs. Don't get me wrong, I have met and know some great people in this game, and there are some friendly and competent people to be found, but the bad elements far outweigh the good. I know many people who have quit because of how progressively worse the quality of players, and respectively groups, have gotten in the past year or two especially it seems. Tools such as the dungeon finder seem to have made matters worse. I enjoyed playing WoW lots, but quit due to extremely rude players, people dropping groups all the time, people generally being terrible toward each other. Though I played with guildies quite often, I found I did more pugs with various characters and just became shocked by the quality of players I was coming across. I won't moan about those who didn't really know how to play their classes (or spec their gear properly, yet act like they knew what was going on elsewhere) either here, but that was another huge issue. People in groups deriding tanks who in return rage quit, healers not healing due to sulking, general inappropriate rudeness, then you get the people not adequately equipped for heroics expecting to be carried in green gear etc.

As far as customer support goes, they're okay but saying they provide excellent service is farfetched. But in terms of providing continuous content to their customers is uncanny. Content just keeps pouring in and out like nobody's business. That', I really appreciated about World of Warcraft.[QUOTE="mrbojangles25"]The community is large and generally fun, entertaining, and helpful.blueness

I hear ya mate. World of Warcraft at times felt like a job. I would get home from work, jump on around dinner time to get ready for raids. There's a lot of babysitting and this was in the Vanilla WOW days when things were actually good. I quit a couple of months into Burning Crusades because I wasn't digging the change. It became more casual, which is good for those who cannot commit to big raids and dungeons that last longer than convention seminars. I use to be a co-guild leader with a friend of mine that I met on World of Warcraft. She was awesome to say the least. You do meet a lot of nice and cool people, but every now and then you just get burned out. If I was retired and a multi-millionaire, I would consider going back to WoW. But lets face it. MMO's are not for everyone due to certain restrictions and real life. I had a lot of fun times on there. I might go as far as to say some of the best PC gaming moments. But everything comes to an end.Easily WoW since its got way higher values as a game thru constantly patching and new content. but its unfair to GW to compare them since WoW needs 10-12 Euros per month per player so it has the resources for such heavy pathing and new contents. But if we let this aside as well as different tastes WoW is better.which one is better and why is it better

I agree with you 100% I was WoW beta tester and i assure you even then people overeacted over everything. Many people take this game so serious that they really think that if you got top notch items or whatever , you really doin something awesome/special thing in your life. And then we everything starts. Elitism , aggressive behavor , yelling , look down on others with worse items , laughing over nothing ( classic lol to everything ) and many many many more pathetic and "psychological" - depressed things over a game. Sadly. Its a fact. Please Log In to post.
