Hey guys I'm using a wirless 108mbps USB adaptor to connect wirelessly to the internet and get dl speeds of around 240 ---> 250kbps (maxes out as 2.4% network utilization). Surely I should be getting around 2 mbps? I'm using Vista 32 bit home edition if it helps.

Thanks in advance

The deali-o with network to peer connectivity is that you're experiencing 108 Mbps within your own local area network (everything the signal "plugs" into before you hit the modem). However, the 240-250 Kbps as a download rate is dependent on how much bandwidth your ISP provided you after signing up with their service. So therefore, the rate is constricted not because of your bought hardware, but instead because of the bandwidth limit your ISP gave you. Another cause is due to from whoever you're downloading from; they've probably set a bandwidth limit average for downloads.

On a side note FYI, a 108 Mbps necesarily doesn't mean that the entire 108 Mbps bandwidth will be used up; that's rated according to hardware specs by the manufacturer. However, instead about 60% of that total bandwidth is used up for logical applications like the internet or CS:S.

Thanks, must be my ISP then. I'm with SKY (BT) now but don't really know how to increase the bandwithc limitations you mentioned.
