I'm going to try something new and unlock this...

The reason for the unlock? I'd like users of this forum to leave any feedback on this type of thread which is present in pretty much all of the GS forums. So if you have any ideas on how to make them better, more useful, easier to use, better organised, etc leave comment here.

We usually do add these for the big games if we see discussions all over the place. Crysis and Unreal 3 will be 2 of them and to make room for them in the forum we'll take BioShock down as a sticky and put it in the index.

Screwed up which lines? I think you need to start using FF like the rest of the free world :P

Oh and the original intent of this thread was for info based around the megathreads, but I can add expansion packs to the mix. They may start to take a lot of room up though and it's pretty easy to find them from the main site.

The idea is good but it won't work. People will keep unleashing thousands of topics about the popular games. They will not bother checking the "official" or "mega" threads. They will post their questions and opinions in seperate topics. I hate it myself too. I hate seeing in every page of PC gaming forum 70% of the topics about the popular games, most likably just 3 games (3 games taking up 70% of PC gaming forum?!).SunnySimantov

I appreciate your negativity and often times share your view, but until Gamespot makes some modifications or people start reading stickies before posting as seen in perfect worlds we'll have to settle for something like this :)

The only reason I suggested adding Nightfall was because you've already got factions, which is an older expansion anyway, and in my oh so humble opinion, why have just one when you can have them all?

But of course it is your final decision, so the only thing I can do I guess is complain and be annoying until you do :lol:

The second is a thread listing PC fighting games, a lot less popular so perhaps not wothy of a mention in here, but may be helpfull for those interested and a great effort by the thread creator imo (the first one too of course!) :)

Why don;t you split that post up into a couple of posts then?

Have the first post contain links to the other posts, and split the posts up into sections, like mega threads, official forums.

Just an idea though :)

I always get hazed when I enter into this forum; it's so difficult to find some discussions of the topic that I'm looking for. But now I think this Megathread idea is genuinely good because, it'll help us to find all the related discussions in a single link. But what if, someone brings a new topic for discussion? Sometime posts are being overlooked. Not all the members read posts as much as they just read the topics.

This is a great thread for looking for previous stickies. Yet, I dont see the most recent ones, like the orange box and bioshock. Could you please update this thread.

Continue that idea... on other foum there is a topic where a users says what topoic they want to their game and then after getting a few votes for "yes" they making an official topic about this game and every person which make another topic about this same game get warining or ban... and about forums to each game... links can be changed... The main rule in this idea is:

ONE GAME = ONE TOPIC

And I think it will be good in every site on this forum like Xbox 360 and others.

Terrible idea. One thread = one thread of thought, not 15 threads of thought, aka conversations, all mixed together so no one knows what the heck is going on.

This is a very unecessary and annoying rule.

Further, the real 'salt in the wound' is this:

I see dozens of god-awful 'can my pc run this' and 'what is the best 3 fps/tps sci-fi hybrids of 1992 luls' a day - these never get closed. Yet the mods take the time to close perfectly legit 'one game, one thread' conversations. Silly.

Generally games that spawn a lot of separate threads here get made into megathreads because the end up dominated the whole forum. I know it's not the idea setup, but it's the best solution we have so far.

I apologise for not keeping this updated and yes I will add the other megathreads to this one.

I'm also sorry some of the links don't work, it seems like someone moved them to a place were they shouldn't go and you guys no longer have access to them. I'm looking into the matter.

I dont' like the one thread idea either, it always leads to arguments on other forums, and people wondering why their topics were closed with the only explanation being (there was already a thread on this subject.) News flash, when people have a question they generally don't feel like wading through a mega large thread to find their answers, it's disgusting to the eyes, and time consuming when a simple answer to their question would be much faster than closing their topic and redirecting them. I know mods like to (exercise) their powers at times, but to me needlessly redirecting questions rather than answering them is a huge waste of everyone's time, especially the person that posted said question.Zorlac0666

It actually has nothing to do with wielding our powers. You'd actually be amazed how many complaints we get that the forum is being overrun by post after post about X game. It out weighs those who complain about mega threads. Mind you that I don't disagree with your point of view, but as I've said above it's really the only way we can combat the problem of a 100 new threads being made.

Nope, sorry :( But pretty much everything that ran on XP will run on Vista. For Vista only games there's less then 6 last time I checked.
