If you have two HD's it better to install games on the second HD and the first has the OS+ odds and ends,+ programs.
But also if you got only one physical harddrive it dont matter where you install it you just need to defrag most likely.
yeah cuz he had it on D and COD4 ran pretty smooth
then i re-installed it on C and now hes getting like 11FPS
his laptop:
Core2Duo @ 1.6ghz 2MB Cache
3 Gigs DDR2
nvidia geForce 9500GS
250 gig harddrive @ 5400RPM
it was running smooth as butter now all of a sudden its crap
just a quick question,
2 different drives "C:" , "D:"
If I install games on "D:" while windows is on "C:", when I format "C:" and reinstall windows do I have to reinstall games on "D:" in order to play them again?

No you can run them but you just wont have the registry entries. The games wont exist from the point of view of Windows so you can't 'uninstall' them, but you can just delete them if you so choose. Depending on the game your settings may be at default as well.

Some of these games may not even run because CD-Key information is normally stored in the registry.
Thanks, I thought it was somthing like that.Str8jackitz
but you would have all your gamesaves that you can copy, put aside and when you reinstall them, just paste them back in

You will still have to reinstall them so it does not make any difference. I prefer to have all my applications on the C drive with documents, music and videos on another partition because you still have to reinstall the applications if you reinstall Windows.
the best is the b: drive. yes, the floppy disk drive! BOOYA!!!
edit: wait, was that the a: drive? i remember having a 5.25" floppy on a:, a 3.5" floppy on b: ? :? yeah, i think that's right...

Can you even assign "B" as a drive letter?
Right now I use a 320GB for Windows and games, have another 20GB drive for music, and yet another 80GB drive for apps, wallpapers, screensavers, etc.. I need to invest in an external drive I think....
I install all my games on my 320 GB USB 2.0 HD (which is drive F:/). Johnny_Rockhuh? how are the load times seems like they would suck

Pwned.
Mine's 500 gigs
I love Boxing day.
Pwned? I have two internal 500GB SATA drives that are for music, movies and video editing, and my OS's (XP and Linux). So if my addition is still working, that's 1360GB.

What load times? I don't see a difference between the few game I have on my internal drives (Steam and World of Warcraft) and my F: drive games.
