Installed new video card, now headset won't work?

Just installed a 5850 on my pc and I have it connected through HDMI and now when I plug my headset in, I get no sound nor does Window recognize the fact that it is plugged inn

Also, I get black lines and jitters every now and then, even while not gaming.
