Is installing a new PSU difficult? Like knowing which wire you have to connect to which part and configuring your bios correctly, so that nothing says 'BOOM'?

Installing a new PSU is very easy to do. There is nothing that you need to configure in the BIOS, you just unplugged the old one and plugin in the new one. All the connections on the PSU only fit one way around. Best thing to if you're unsure is make a note of what plugs in where and follow those notes when plugging the new PSU in.

And if i would change my graphics card, would i have to change anything in my bios?
I currently have a 8600GT (no extra power cable attached) and would like to install a 8800GT (an extra power cable to the card is necessary).

To install a new Graphic card you would'nt need to touch the bio's, just uninstall the old drivers for the 8600 and install the new drivers for the new card

All you'd have to do is uninstall the existing graphics card drivers and install the latest ones.

So all I have to do is connect the cables correctly? So no modifications in my bios, even when the new psu has different amps than the old psu and even when I have to use an extra cable for the gpu?
I just want to be 100% sure here.

Yes just connect the cables correctly. If you're changing your graphics card make sure you plug in the extra power for it.

just unplug then plug the new cables from the new PSU. Just make sure to memorize each cable for its place.
