Yeah that's very easy anyway when you are putting it to your motherboard don't push it harder.
Before that you need to know RAM type(DDR, DDR2...), RAM speed (400MHz, 533MHz, 667MHz or PC3200, PC2 5300, PC2 6400) & the maximum RAM amount supported by RAM slots (1GB per slot, 2GB per slot, 512MB per slot)
Well my motherboard is a Intel Desktop Board D915GEV and it says DDR2 533 / 400 SDRAM: Four slots, dual channel (4gb max)
Will my new ram work with it?
Kniffy
Yes it will. DDR2 is the type of formfactor really. The ram you have is faster then your mobo, so the speed will be what the Mobo sets it down too. Make sure you read up on what slots to use to get your duel channel mode enabled. If you put them in the wrong non-matched slots you will not get duel channel to work. Your mobo manual should spell this out pretty clearly.

Yeah, well on my mobo there is a set of 2 black slots and 2 blue slots, but its like (black)(blue) space in between (black)(blue)
And if you havent noticed yet, i dont know too much about computers.

That is a common scheme for coloring. Make sure both sticks are in matching colored slots. The mobo will have tiny lettering on it indicating what each slot is laballed. Sometimes they call them A and B or 1 and 2 etc. Sometimes it's stuff like GroupA slot1 and crazy crap. Just make sure they are both in the same color and you should be good to go. When your PC boots you may get some bootup stuff that shows what your ram is clocked to etc. That info is usually help to know.
