I'm putting together a computer on either ibuypower.com or cyberpowerpc.com and I already purchased my RAM off another site so I don't want to waste money on RAM i dont need so I want to buy the minimum RAM that is offered. My question is will the website companes have any issues installing Windows Vista 64 bit on the computer with only 512 MB or 1 GB of RAM before they ship it out to me? When I physically have the computer I'll put in all the RAM I bought but I want to make sure that Vista can still be installed with that little RAM. Thanks.

512mb should be fine for now and is there any paticular reason your buying from those two sites ? There considered by many to be practially the worse place to buy a computer because of there awful customer support which pretty much voids any warrenty and many DOA stories. Also if your not careful they will skimp out on parts, for example they will give you a good card/ram but then slap in a generic apevia powersupply which probaly couldn't output 1/2 the amps it says on the box.

1gb is enough to install Vista. I don't think we offer 512mb modules at iBuyPower.

I cannot vouch for Cyberpower, since we are a completely separate entity, but at iBuyPower, we offer power supplies from reputable companies such as Corsair, Mushkin, and CoolerMaster. The choice is made by the customer, not by us. Every system we ship is tested to be working before it leaves the factory floor. We cannot, however, control what happens during the shipping process.

Exactly thats my point. They lure you in with low prices but in reality you have to pay more for brand name parts and how old is this testing system you guys have had ? It must be pretty recent since DOA problems have been brought up so many times on this website and your reselleratings have dropped to below average because of it and other issues.

Thanks for the answers guys. The main reason for those two sites is for convenience. I'm buying my own RAM, Graphics Card, and Monitor. I just dont feel like messing with the rest of it, especially trying to hook up the motherboard or install vista on a new rig.

Also, one of the cyberpowerpc options was to not have a graphics card, would that impede them installing vista?

Thanks again.

AVADirect. Ibuypower = Cyberpower. 512mb is fine if they offer it. Just means a slower process for the installer :P
