This is nothing new. Both AMD and Intel have been bumping up clocks a few notches in order to resell for years (see the difference between the 1090T and 1100T as an AMD example).
We all know Ivy Bridge and Sandybridge-E are the ones to look out for anyway. This is just to ensure Intel are still close to the top in stock benchmarks when Bulldozer is released.
Have they actually made any changes to it, other than supplying it guaranteed to work at a fractionally faster speed than the i7 2600k, which everyone knows will easily overclock much higher?
