I am looking into buying a laptop that has this as it's video card. I know this is integrated, but the laptop has 4GB of RAM so would using the card slow down my CPU drastically. Would anybody be able to tell me if I could run games such as WoW, Sims 2, Spore, and Civilization 4 smoothly on a laptop with this graphics card? I would hate to run these games on all low-setting so would I be able to run at least some of them at medium and have them still run smoothly? Thanks is advance!

I have an Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset family. I do know that Civ IV works good. So does the demo for Sins of a Solar Empire, demo for World In Conflict, Fable: The Lost Chapters, and World of Goo too. :P

When you are playing those games, what graphics settings are you running them on? And @ imprezawrx I wish I could get a laptop with a 8600GT in it, but it doesn't fit my budget!

Simular bench's to the 8400gs, so i'm guessing that itll run cod4 on high because i was on a 8400gs. then again i was using the desktop card so it might not be as good for a laptop.

Civ IV I'm running on high on all settings. Fable I'm running low as the frame rate seems to take a bit of a hit with them really high. Don't know about Sins though.

Just to clarify, you are playing all those games using a Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD? If so, then the laptop I'm looking at is perfect for my gaming needs!

Its not that bad, i have used the X3100 and its a surprisingly capable chip, just has some big flaws Overall, for a cheap laptop, its going to do a lot. The minute you put a dedicated nVidia or ATi GPU in there, even if its weak, the price of the system is going to shoot up.

What games are you capable of playing using the X3100?

laptops aren't good for gaming , not to mention you are getting a crappy video car for it. Can you post the rest of the laptop's specs?
