intel core 2 duo 2.8ghz by a long shot. Its not even funny how much better it is. there is alot more than just clock speed when it comes to a CPU. You have to take the chip architecture into account, the pipeline size, the bus speed, the cache, etc. Im suprised people still offer that chip, AND on top of all that its dual core soooo.....
I suggest you do some reading on the Megahertz Myth (which is what you fell for no offense :P )
heres a link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megahertz_myth
C2D, no contest. P4s were a joke.millerlight89
Back in the day they were all right. I had an Athlon 64 though.

Putting a P4 against a C2D is like putting a toddler against Kimbo Slice in a street fight.

Or Kimbo Slice against an actually MMA fighter.
lol it HAS been a while since I watched after all.

Better? :p
Are you speaking of i386 architecture or the actual cpu?Hey guys whats better? a 386 or a pentium?

no uC2D, no contest. P4s were a joke.millerlight89Indeed. C2D runs laps around that netburst P3 refresh POS.

As far as I know, an Atom is faster than a P4, which isn't much of an accomplishment.DJ_LaeActually not so much, a 1.6ghz atom is as fast as a 1.2ghz p4(celeron).
I am thinking n270/n280 atoms.

Ah, maybe it's the 330s I'm thinking of, then. But I guess they're probably faster for some things (like multitasking) and slower for others.I hope that's faster 2 cores and 2 HT ones, probably decently fast. Though I don't own one, I own a netbook with a n280. I want to see if I can swap it wit ha n330, even though Intel is not letting manufactures putting them in netbooks to my knowledge... I think they just get host, but I hope they are electrically compatible.
The 330 is acceptably fast from what I've seen - I've got one in a little Revo and it's gone from HTPC duty to my girlfriend's primacy PC after her laptop died. It's not going to win any speed awards but it's fine for general use and can easily play 1080p content with the ION. It struggles to play back 720p videos with programs with no GPU support, though. A netbook with a 330 and ION graphics would be great, but I don't know if it would work due to space and heat constraints.DJ_Lae

I've been waiting on one of these myself.
