I wouldn't touch a E2*** CPU unless you're OCing,it'll run said games fine,but whats your grafx card?

what are you talking about, for budget pcs the E21** series are great, and agreed that they are phenominal overclockers.

For the same price as the E2*** CPU,you could get a X2 4000/4200/4600+ that'll be on par if not beating the E2140/2160 and 2180 respectively.

If you want to get all the power out of this CPU, then you have to OC otherwise you may have some diffculites. Another factor for your gaming experince is your VGA which you didnt mention anything about it.

Agree with the overclocking recommendations - I got my E2160 to 3Ghz easily and it ran much much better than at stock speeds.

i agreed that the an x2 4000+ for the same price will beat the 2140, but that doesnt still mean that the 2140 is a bad budget processor.

But if you overclock the E2140 it will beat the X2 4000!

the E2160 is a good budget cpu, yes AMD x2 are better at budget price points but dont take anything away from the E2160 tho..

You'll have to research this for yourself as every CPU is slightly different but for mine I upped the FSB in the BIOS to 333Mhz with a x9 Multiplier 333x9=2997Ghz I linked the RAM and I think I got it to about 820-ishMhz you need to look around in your BIOS to see what options are in there possibly even upgrading the BIOS on your MOBO that usually helps before an overclock :)

Yes with a suitable graphics card that can handle those games that CPU is fine. Bioshock is not a tough game by any means. Runs find on a Pentium4 CPU.

U can OC it too around 2.6 Ghz with stock cooler and too 3 Ghz with a better cooler (increased voltage) without any problem. I have:2140 (1.6) (revision M0) OC 3.1Ghz. Bus speed 390 Mhz, Core 1.4V (100% no crashes). CPU cooler: Cooler master hyper TX2.
