I wouldn't touch a E2*** CPU unless you're OCing,it'll run said games fine,but whats your grafx card?
what are you talking about, for budget pcs the E21** series are great, and agreed that they are phenominal overclockers.PWN-SchubieFor the same price as the E2*** CPU,you could get a X2 4000/4200/4600+ that'll be on par if not beating the E2140/2160 and 2180 respectively.

i agreed that the an x2 4000+ for the same price will beat the 2140, but that doesnt still mean that the 2140 is a bad budget processor.

But if you overclock the E2140 it will beat the X2 4000!

the E2160 is a good budget cpu, yes AMD x2 are better at budget price points but dont take anything away from the E2160 tho..guys did you read what he posted he wants to play supreme commander you will need a good quad core processor to run that game (along with a decent video card)sabbath2gamer
No you won't  he most deifnitly not be able to run the game at max settings he will still run it relatively well, specially if he overclocks it to E6600 speeds..

did you also reas that he bought a computer with the cpu in it he probably has a store bought computer which i doubt he will be able to OC it.
well ocing cpu isnt that hard.just have to find a decent oc guide to help u out.try playing with bios so u can understand some terms in the bios and eventually u can began oc.
abit offtopic but ya since he wants to play supreme commander oc is the only way to smoothen the gameplay.

Agree with the overclocking recommendations - I got my E2160 to 3Ghz easily and it ran much much better than at stock speeds.TicTac8745
Yep :) mines at 3Ghz (63% boost) on air cooling for over a year now, no problems at all :D very good processors
Can anyone Show me exactly how to overclock my Intel Pentium Dual Core CPU E2180 @ 2ghz to 3 or over it is running a 500 mhz and plz tell me all the other info you need (and how to get that info) it is also running with a stock cooler with a SAPPHIRE Radeon X1550 ,Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (Build 2600) , System Memory 1023.4 , DirectX Version 9.0c , Display Memory 512.0 i want to be able to run Far Cry 2 and Call Of Duty 5 ya i kinda bought it first without cheking the specs ps IM HOPELESS NEED MUCH DETAIL And am getting all this info pretty much from the bf2 easyinfoPNUTfish
You'll have to research this for yourself as every CPU is slightly different but for mine I upped the FSB in the BIOS to 333Mhz with a x9 Multiplier 333x9=2997Ghz I linked the RAM and I think I got it to about 820-ishMhz you need to look around in your BIOS to see what options are in there possibly even upgrading the BIOS on your MOBO that usually helps before an overclock :)

Yes with a suitable graphics card that can handle those games that CPU is fine. Bioshock is not a tough game by any means. Runs find on a Pentium4 CPU.
