Is the graphics whatever in my dell dimension does this mean i can upgrade , the 'intergrated' made me think so?

if the motherboard has a pci-e x16 yes you can upgrade

well im abit of a noob so i dont have a clue if i have this is there any way i can find out also does a motherboard change anthing performance wise is it worth getting a new one?

open the case and look, usually there's "pcie_x16" printed on the motherboard just above the slot...and yeah it's worth it!

Sometimes in the manual it'll show the whole inside of the PC, which could give you a better idea. If not you should at least tell us the Dell Desktop version you got...like XPS??? Other than that we can't guess that info for you.
