Hi all!

I have Verizon FiOS internet installed at my place and have been having problems with it. I wondered if someone here could help me identify what's wrong and maybe I could fix it so I don't have to wait for the technician on Thursday.

Anyway, I can't access the internet on my desktop, wireless internet on my laptop, or wireless internet on my game systems (Wii and 360). So, I called Verizon and the automated system did the thing where they do tests on their end. The automated system said that it couldn't connect to my router (the router and modem are one unit). I called one of the techs I knew and he told me to look at my router. He asked me if the light for the "Internet" light was on, and I said, "no." The power light, Ethernet port 1 light, and Wireless light are on, but the Internet light is off. He told me to turn the router/modem off and I did, but to no effect. I've tried it several times, but nothing changes.

I was wondering if it was a problem with either the router/modem or the cables or fiber-optic line. Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Their is probably something wrong with the equipment installed at your house. If you look at the ONT box they installed in your seller or outside your house. The internet light should be green and blinking. If the internet light on the ONT is not lit its their problem. Sometimes the light will be amber and they will ask you to unplug the router while they reset the ONT. Just keep complaining about it. Eventually they will send a tech out to look at it. He should be able to make an assessment about whats going on. I have the 25/25 service with 3 DVRs and 2 regular set top boxes. I haven't had to many problems except not being able to access the DVRs online but that's it.
