Since i'm workin with an 800$ budget and i want to get the most performance for value, Should i invest in the cpu and get the i5 2500k and get a weaker 6850 card... or should i spend the money more on the gpu and get a 560 Ti 1GB card with a i5 2400 cpu? Which would be the best for gaming?

For gaming, the GPU has always got top priority.

560 Ti +i5-2400 would be the superior setup for gaming.

Most games these days are GPU intensive. As long as you have a decent CPU and at least 4GB of RAM the only thing that is going to make a lick of difference in how well your games play is the GPU. For that reason you should ALWAYS put as much money as you can into the GPU.

In my opinion if you have an $800 budget I would invest in the CPU first to get started then upgrade later. (mid -highend range GPUs are only as good for games as the CPU and RAM is and cannot work best without it) You need a faster CPU and RAM in order for a more expensive GPU. But thats just what I think.

I also wanted to say that the CPU and RAM is the key to PC gaming. (The GPU takes less load off of the CPU)

Personally, I'd just hold off buying until I could afford both. There's what, less than a $100 difference between an i5-2400+6850 and an i5-2500k+560? Assuming you have some form of income, it shouldn't take too long to scrape together the extra cash. It should pay off in the long run as well, as the 2500k's overclocking ability and 560's extra power should allow you to hold off longer before having to upgrade.

If you have to choose though, definitely GPU. You could even save yourself a couple of bucks by going down to an i3-2100 or AMD Phenom X4 and still get perfectly fine CPU performance.

800 for birthday money? Lucky you!

I say 2500k (Since it overclocks really well) and the 6850. Make sure you get a good PSU and a mobo that can do crossfire so you can add another one later.

Yes if you don't plan on adding another video card in the future.

I am not sure how much power the 560 uses but I have a 600watt PSU and it runs my two 5850s just fine.

get the better cpu...the price difference bw the 2400 and the 2500k is like 20 bux dude...the price difference b/w the 6850 and the 560 ti is almost a $100 since you can get 6850 for dirt cheap.

Go with the 2500K & 6850. If at a later date you got a better video card then OC'ing the cpu would decrease (or even eliminate) any possible bottleneck that might be caused by the cpu. You wouldn't be able to overclock with 2400. The PSU you have linked would be able to run a 560 Ti. The min recommended PSU for the 560 is a 500W PSU with 30A on the +12V rail which is for a typical system with a 560 (basically the whole PC). The one you have linked can supply up to 37A on the 12V rails.

as long as you have a quad core and 4gb ram pretty much any game can be maxed out with a good gpu besides a few very demanding games. 2gb just wont cut it any more.

I would go with a CPU right now. PC games are usually limited by consoles since they just about make every new game for consoles and PC. Wait for the next gen of consoles to come out before buying the video card. Because by the time the next gen consoles come out you'll have enough money saved up to get a good video card that would be newer and better than the ones you are looking at now. Also, the ones you have listed will be cheaper.

Yeah, many people seem to underestimate the impact the CPU has on gaming.
