My GPU diode temperature coms up to 72C while playing games and its not overclocked. Is that a dangerous temperature. My graphics card is 8800GTX. Before i reinstalled my Windows (due to a virus) it never passed 70C, even while playing world in conflict on HIGH settings.

70C is quite good for a GTX it can get upto 85C on some rigs...

GPU's have high thresholds so 72C is not that bad now it it gets into the 170C then ya I would start worrying a tad bit lol

My 7800gt can take up to about 80 before becoming unstable.

wow GTX's heat up a lot My GT goes up to 42 max its usually around 36 and its only has air cooling

Not at all.

Mine gets up to 75c depending on the ambient room temp.
