I doubt it will damage your hardware, but it may cause instability under stressing situations. what you need to be more concerned with is the amps the unit puts out. what model is it?

I am a novice to computers so help me out. Does any power supply work with any computer or what? For instance, The x1950GT is a PCI-E card, so if the power supply has PCI-E connectors as a "no" then can i use it or not? thanks

Most power supplies support any platform you can build at home - however, Raidmax is known for making horrid power supplies, and buying the cheapest one you can is asking for trouble. It's not like a processor where you lose out on a little bit of clock speed or cache if you don't spend as much, you want to pay for quality. That being said, I'd ask you how much you're willing to spend on a power supply in order to ensure the safe operation of your rig.

That power supply looks terrible. Most of the people that used it seem to agree with me.

That one somehow manages to look worse than the other one. If you want to spend $20 on a power supply, be my guest - I refuse to recommend any power supply at that price point. You're going to need to more than triple that budget to find a power supply I'll give the thumbs-up to.

They might indeed - you could buy that $20 power supply, and have a great experience with it. That is entirely possible. But it's also a risk - and a much bigger one that could cost you a lot more money than just spending $60 more right now for a quality piece of hardware. I'm not saying that power supply is guaranteed to fail on you - but I know for a fact that it's not only going to be very unreliable, but provide dirty wattage that will wear down your components faster, and won't be of anywhere near the build quality of a Seasonic, Enermax, Silverstone, or PC Power & Cooling power supply.

To power the X1950GT, you need a 6-pin PCI-E connector that should be found on most modern PSUs.

That power supply is better than the others, but still its a bit small. Thermaltake touhpower line is the only good ones they make, as in the rest of their psu's do not compete with the toughpower line. So If you wan't to take a slight risk get it, it should work fine 18A on 12v looks satisfactory.
