is a superclocked 8800gtx worth the extra $35?

would i ever run into problems between the superclocked gtx and games because its overclocked?

Is the card factory oc'ed or someone Oc'ed it? if its factory oc'ed it will be fine.

I dont agree with what the other guy said. Many, many superclocked 8800 series cards have problems in alot of games. Its why I didnt buy one when getting my new 8800GT a few months ago. Overclocked is ok, superclocked = bad news for any 8800 card. The worst part is that the manufacturers selling these Super OC cards know they are problematic and still sell them anyways. Caveat Emptor!

20-70 mhz dont much of creating heat and problems it was the fan speeds on the 8800gt's that was causing the problem. and people were overclocking even more without turning up the fan speed.

Unless the card is too hot or overclocked too far, then you wont have any problems. You can always underclock if you're getting errors/artifacts, overheating or whatever.

And yes, fan speeds are very important; make sure to increase if you overclock or it's too hot in your room.

Uhm... EVGA's term of Superclocked = Overclocked.

Many 8800s don't work from pre-OCed? You either have such bad airflow in your PC which would account to the GPU heating up too much. I haven't had a pre-OCed card not working on me yet :roll:

you can get the "same" result overclocking yourself.

The first build of the 8800GT SSC had numerous problems but it was fixed . I had to RMA the card 3 times until they corrected the problem and now it works perfect. If anyone experienced any problems like artifacts and lockups they should have done an RMA.

No you wont have any trouble with it, The people who have problems with OC'ed parts are people who overclock too much or dont have the right cooling and or not enough power and those can cause the problems. If it was me I would go with the 8800GTS 512mb's because they are almost equal to the GTX and are less.
