yeah there are AGP cards that are out. the thing is that they cost way more then PCI cards. you should prolly get a new PC, built one. or upgrade the mobo and cards

I'm kind of in the same spot as you,the only thing i see worth upgrading to would be intel core 2 duo and a 8800.

Well you are running an old system and to just get an AGP GFX card to upgrade would possibly be a waste of money since you'd want to go ahead and move up to a modern system board so you have access to a PCI-E slot.  Either way that system you have right now actually still has some life in it, so you could if you wanted get an AGP GeForce 7800 and I've heard rumors that an AGP 8600 or 8800 series is in the works.

I was in the same spot as you as well. I went with a X1950 PRO and I sorta, regret it. I wish I'd saved a little more cash and bought a new S939 board with PCI-Express and a 7950 AGP. If you don't have the cash to buy/build a new system then listen to mouthforbathory and buy a Geforce 7800.

Yes, AGP is definitely outdated...its essentially a video-focused PCI slot. PCI-E is much more capable by this point.

The reviews are bad. You should wait they are making a DX10 AGP card. It should be coming out this or next month.

If you cant afford to get a new mobo, ram, cpu and gpu (which is inevitable if your pc has only agp) then get an x1950 pro, its your best bet. The 7800gs is far to overpriced, and a 7600gt or gs will be little or no upgrade to your current card.

I'd buy a new mobo.. but since for my dual xeon socket 604 there are only the most expensive mobos yet to be. :(

Yeah, unless the last few years have been a long wacky dream and PCI-E x16 doesn't exist. Then yeah, AGP 8x is outdated.

Yes AGP is outdated, However I'm running a EVGA 6800 GT AGP

and I can run Company of Heroes on high no problem.
